2019 Vintage. (Sorry on mobile so can’t add a vintage). This was a very pleasant start to our tasting menu. I expected it to be drier, but the sweetness was not unpleasant and not too heavy. Honey and floral. Probably an 89 or 90 score

Needs time. Restrained and one-dimensional at this point. Luscious mouthfeel. Sweeter than expected, though long finish becomes more savory. Pineapples.

Fra hukommelse: luftet en liten halvtime. En særdeles ren og nyansert nese av lys, hvit frukt, hvit, sommerlig blomstereng og schiefer. Meget delikat vin i munn.

I love how that Zilliken Saarburger Rausch Kabinett balances out the honey sweetness with a lively apple and yuzu acidity. Simply one of my favorite Kabinett! I would wait another 3-4 years to open the next bottle.

8,5% alcohol. Tasted blind among 49 other 2016 Riesling Kabinetts in Kabinett Cup 2016.
Quite pale green color. Somewhat restrained and subtly sweet nose with rather light yet pretty attractive aromas of perfumed white flowers, some peach candies and a hint of licorice. The wine feels ripe, juicy and pretty rich-end medium-sweet on the palate with lively and vibrant flavors of red apples, steely minerality, some honey, a little bit of perfumed floral character and a hint of orange zest. The wine feels medium-to-moderate in acidity, but most likely the acidity is higher - the residual sugar just masks most of it away. Overall the wine is quite delicious and very balanced. The finish is lively and juicy with pure and pretty lengthy flavors of ripe citrus fruits, some steely minerality, a little bit of honey and birch sap and a touch of tart green apples.
A delicious, rich and harmonious Riesling that is pretty sweet for a Kabinett. Many of the judges in this tasting commented favorably this wine, but most also recognized that the wine also felt quite young, primary and thus a bit too linear at the moment. Offers pleasure and nice drinkability at the moment, but most likely will need years before it really starts to sing. Pretty lovely stuff, recommended. The wine managed to score a total of 3 points from 12 judges, making it overall the 12th best wine out of 50 wines.Expensive for a Kabinett at 19€, but worth it.

Nice nose with lemon squeezing and citrus leaves. Fruit cocktail on palate like my childhood memory from tin (not the reality.) Lemons, mints, slight berry. Finishes with Lady apples. Fresh and lifting and then ends up with a snuffed candle element that is odd. Focused , but inviting. A little disjointed.

This was one of the sweetest Kabinetts I've ever tasted. Blind, I would have guessed Auslese. A good wine with a solid acidic backbone but Kabinett?

Tasted at the winery. Peaches and cream, apricot, and mango are the dominant notes both on the nose and palate. Some lemon and smoke on the finish.

Tasted after Willi Schaefer's Domprobst Kabinett, this is a little more vibrant and fresher. Good expression of fruit, nice length. 91-92+
