This was my first “serious” Claret from this vintage and also my first bottle from this Chateau and I have to say I was impressed with both. The balance was spot on, the tannic structure was there but in no way over powerful. There was some classic cedary fruit sensations on the palate. Overall it all added to a very pleasing accompaniment to rack of lamb. I would certainly buy again.

Uplifting aroma of ripe blackberries and black plums, wrapped around by a layer of smoked bacon, sweet spices, cedar and forrest floor. Structured, dense and dry palate with most fruit elements hiding behind the big frame for now. Even at this young age, there is already some degree of balance between acidity and tannins after an hour in the decanter. Not ready to drink now, let it age for 3-5 years and this Margaux will develop gracefully for the next decade. 91-93pts.
The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry, blueberry, black currant (cassis), forest floor, bark and oak. The body is medium. The wine has satin-like texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity.

UNION DES GRANDS CRUS DE BORDEAUX 2016 VINTAGE SAN FRANCISCO. (Metreon, San Francisco, Ca.): UNION DES GRANDS CRUS DE BORDEAUX 2016 VINTAGE SAN FRANCISCO. Nose of tobacco, black berry, same on the palate, nice fruit, tasty fruit, juicy fruit, simple fruit, slightly fruit forward, medium/big body, some soft tannins, and a long, long finish which really helps this wine score today.

Note : 16,75-17/20 i.e. 93-94/100

Medium-bodied, fresh, soft-textured wine with nectarous fruits, earth and spice. Give this a few years to soften before you enjoy the juicy fruit finish.

Too young. I would not open this for 2 years minimum. The makings are there for a very good wine.

Too young for me to rate. This needs more time in the bottle

Too young for me; quite tannic and rather dry. However it does have dark fruit and power that seems positive for midterm future 90+

Blackberry, cassis, hint of gravel; smooth, substantial, medium length, some structure, good but a little dull and a little closed
