PnP. Evident oak flavours together with ripe red fruit, herbs and olive paste. It feels concentrated and light at the same time and the 15 percent alcohol hardly shows. Tannins are still potent and the aftertaste is long and sweet. Interesting wine.

Opened last night. Note from tonight. Black-ruby, with nice red legs. Tonight, mostly vanilla and spice in the nose. Ripe fruit in the mouth, quite oaky. Not a wine for the ages. Best drunk in the next several years. 5-11-14-7: 87/100. Probably would have rated a point higher last night, but it has devolved in a day, not evolved.

Deep red colour, pale rim. Tobacco on the nose, spices, very ripe plum and blackcurrant fruit. Juicy, fresh nice fragrance, big fruit and structure. Ripe tannins now nice and yielding. Oak has integrated in the last two years and this is now drinking well. I didn’t even notice the massive alcohol quite so much. Needs food ideally bloody red meat. Spotted this for £21 a bottle which is brilliant value.

From Mag, 3h double-decanted, a bit flat and uninteresting, the 15% alc. do not come through at all, rather a bit light. Either too young or comptetitors too strong this evening....

Spicy nose, dark fruit, touch of pencil shaving, Firm tannins but not overpowering, creamy vanilla oak. Nice balance. Soft fruit finish. Long with oaky notes. Needs time. Lots of oak but I love the structure. Keep. Another one with big ABV, 15%, but it's not overpowering.

Nice dark ruby colour. Still quite young and benefits from some air. Strong concentration of dark red fruits with prunes, cherries, cassis and strawberry jam. Aromas of oak ageing, little vanilla. High acidity, soft tannins and medium finish. This is a very good value Bordeaux.

The 2016 Grand Village is currently drinking well, lovely aromas of blackberry and a hint of cassis with a velvet like texture. Very good value indeed while not a trophy wine its great to have as a midweek wine or to share with friends knowing you are on to a winner. My only surprise in the context of the vintage which on average produced wines less in alcholic content was the 15 percent ABV though to be fair you really don't notice due to the wines beautiful overall balance.

Deep garnet in color, the wine blends hints of licorice, espresso and black raspberry. Fresh, soft and polished, this medium bodied, delicious expression of sweet, spicy, red and white cherries is the best wine yet, from Grand Village. The wine was produced from a blend of 86% Merlot and 14% Cabernet Franc.

La Vie du Vin featuring Ch. Lafleur and Martine's Wines (Blackberry Farm, TN): Drinking great from magnum. My favorite today comparing the 2020, 2016, 2015 vintages. A truly special wine for this price. Nothing New World comes close.

Kort notat - pnp - flott merlotdrevet nese, litt floral, dyp morellfrukt i munnen. God balanse i vinen, ingen alkostikk. En av vinverdenens beste qpr.

Dark and brooding. Classic Bordeaux aromas of cassis, pencil shavings and tobacco.
Rich, cool and concentrated palate. Still bite on the tannins with a drying finish and a long life ahead for this wine.
