Admittedly, I sampled this after having the 2007 Domaine du Pégau Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée da Capo last night. No comparison. This is a serviceable Châteauneuf-du-Pape with time to develop. Flavors exhibit a certain amount of fleshiness, which to me comes from prolonged yeast/lees contact. Good but not particularly refined.

Hasn’t developed much since our previous bottle in late 2019. Certainly a pleasant wine, and it’s mostly balanced between fresh berry notes, smoke, and anise. On the lighter side.

cherry and a bit of peach fruit, some earth and mushroom notes. Extremely well-balanced and good weight. Likely will improve over the next couple of years but no need to wait.

Decanted for 25 minutes. Aromas of roasted herb, cherry, raspberry and roasted meats. Flavors of raspberry, cherry, cranberry, dark chocolate and bit of iron. Ends with a 25-30 second finish iron and herb notes. Probably could have have used more time in the decanter but still showed pretty well.

Had a very similar experience as Casallora on 4/29/19. The wine is drinking pleasantly now and you wouldn’t be doing any harm to open, but my hope is it will develop a bit more complexity over the next 2-4 years.

Nice soft leather color upon decanting. Full fruit nose aroma. Initial pour; good legs, bramble bush nose, soft chocolate flavor w/good finish. Finish not overbearing & is well balanced. After being decanted 30 minutes the wine opens to light tar & heavy berry flavor w/pronounced pleasing finish. Nice well rounded wine.

A nice wine, clearly young still. I nice garnet color, very clear. Aroma is a nice earthy nose but it was hidden slightly at first. Became more noticeable after a little bit of time. The initial tasting was again somewhat nondescript but some lovely spice notes came into the wine and the tannins became more nicely integrated after some time. Maybe I should have just opened this and left it for an hour to begin with instead of drinking right out of the bottle.

Perfumed red fruits again accompanied by some darker inflections. Already some nice development here. Herbal complexity; supple palate, nice elegance here. Approachable style. Some tannins unresolved but not intrusive.

With equal amounts of earth and pepper, the wine is forward, soft and silky with polished tannins and a blast of spicy, sweet, red fruits in the finish. The entry level of wine here, offers good value and it's ready to drink on release.

Drank at Liholiho Yacht Club in SF with friends. Decent Rhone blend for the price.
