  • opens with a fairly muted nose of earth and cherry. on the palate the wine shows mostly cherry fruit and some black raspberry with whisps of wet earth. mostly modern in style with 30% being aged in barriques. even so there is no noticable oak on the nose or palate. that said the varietal characteristics of the wine have been changed for the worse by the new oak (modern style) and renders the wine somewhat uninteresting to me. this wine should be very attractive to those who like a modern taste but not the oak on the nose and palate.
