Fine nose with plum like fruity elements backed up by some sweet cask notes. Balanced in the mouth with smooth tannins. Excellent QPR. Crink now - 2011

Likes a little air, as it's fairly closed to begin with. Opens up with time, although it's still an alcohol forward wine. Seems like it could even spend some more time in the bottle. Nice wine, but not a great value at the price.

50% Tempranillo, 34% Syrah, 10% Cabernet Sauv., 3% Touriga Nacional, & 3% Trincaderia. 12 months in oak. Brick red in color. Mineral and vegetable nose. Disappointing, particularly for the price. Medium bodied. Moderate fruitiness of red berries. A little spicy. Tin on the finish. OK, but not great. (D7.5, F 4; Cent.)

Interesting wine. The blend of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon with native Portuguese grapes works very well. Like a Syrah-dominant Rhone with extra interest. I would buy more.
