Gourmetklubbens femtiofjärde middag (Södermalm, Stockholm (P+A)): (From magnum, Disgorged in 2016, 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Chardonnay) Yellow colour with streams of very fine bubbles and a maturing nose showing seashells, minerals and hints of hazelnuts in a very pleasant way. Refreshing citrus acidity on the palate with a pleasant creaminess on the mid before a lemon acidity takes over on the finish. Drinking very well right now, but should evolve into more tertiary notes with more time in the cellar. (Best 2022-2037)

The 2002 Palmer & Co Champagne Magnum was uncomplicated but impressively young, most of us guessed it was a decade younger than it was. Light bodied and green fruit driven, crushed seashells and stainless steel ageing lean style. Early harvest with high acidity. Surprisingly young, I thought it was a Blanc de Blancs from 2013. (87/100)

From magnum it was airy and flowery with notes of zephyr. It had spent 12+ years on the lees, so felt even too fresh at the moment, keep it for 2+ years for optimal enjoyment.

Nose is showing incipient maturity with notes of seashells, bread and hazelnuts and popcorn. Fresh and nice acidity on the palate with citrus and yellow apples, but maybe a bit thin on the mid. But with a nice finish showing red apple peel. Still youthful, but drinking nicely. Should evolve very well with a decade or two in the cellar. (From magnum) (Best 2023-2038)

From magnum. Starts to be ready to drink. Minerality driven, with good balance. Good but not great. Medium bodied with medium acidity and medium finish. Has improved from 2016, but it is far from the excellent 1996 magnum I had at the same age 6 years ago.

Medium-fullish, fruity, fresh nose with subtle nutty and spicy hints. Harmonius, quite fullish palate. Nutty with yellow orchard fruit. Elegant and balanced. Good grip. Ready.

- It's somewhat balanced with a light/medium body. Bright texture - Drank from Magnum. Very nice and fresh aromas of apples and apricot. Quite good acidity. Flavors of red apple and lemon. Slight hint of brioche. Very good mousse. Not in full balance (acidity). Rather short.

From magnum (1.5 l). Light yellow colour with a very youthful restrained nose showing chalk and citrus and very light biscuit tones. Clean young taste, good intense mousse, citrus notes, balanced. Less maturity than expected for a 13 year old champagne. Medium finish. Good but not great, but with potential. Half a glass left in the bottle over night in room temperature. Much richer nose with biscuits and fruit, still balanced and nicely drinkable.

(Disgorged in 2015) Light yellow colour with a very youthful nose showing citrus and nuts in the beginning, after a while it showed classical seashell notes as well! Soft and creamy mousse with a fruity palate and a nice fresh finish.

In my opinion as (always) with Palmer, it need some cellering to show it’s full potential. Nose: dutch biscuits, flowers, almonds, honey and lemond pie. It has a nice acidity which in combination with the residential suger of 6g/l will develop well over the next 10-20 years depending on if it's a 75cl or 150cl bottle.

Just as sweet, and as bad, as the Palmer 2002 bdb I had the other week. A lot more open than my previous bottle, and that is the problem. My recommendation would be to wait 3-5 years and hope that this champagne improves.

I'm fairly new to champange and this is not a no-fuzz easy to drink champange. Has it been oaked? Pairing with food is a must. Very favorable price, considering the quality. Will store my other two bottles for many years to see how much this champange can take. Guess one can keep it for several years.

Fräsht fruktig med en rotfruktston i både doft och smak. Nästan lite agressiva bublor i inledningen med hög syra. Vinner säkerligen på att ligga till sig något mer.
Small bubbles, lively appely nose. Apple and fresh acidity initiallybut more and more brioche and yeast as it get warmer. Very nice rather light champagne with good balance.

Very nice fruity and appely nose with youthful freshness. In the mouth the fresheur continues with grass, asparagus and hayish notes. Nice consistent, quite long aftertaste. Very nice of the fresh youthful type.

Från magnum.
Drack. Inga noter.
Lite enkel men en riktigt bra Champagne.
Ingen brådska att öppna de här. Precis i början av drickfönster.
