Drinking excellent after a 2 hour decant. No noticeable sediment. Complex dark fruits, drinking young and energetic. Tons of time ahead and likely improvement.

Decanted briefly. Showing fabulously with silky, bold, intense, and balanced fruit, mostly dark, lightly toasted wet earth, long finish. Tannins still a tough fierce but not problematic for me. I love these.

Hundred Acre wine tasting: Blind. I don't remember a whole lot about this wine. All I know is that I liked it, and it had suprisingly high acidity, giving it a rather fresh feel.

Decanted over cocktails. Man, I love the 2015 (and 2018) St. Helena Cabs. This is showing huge black fruit and the charred earth that is my favorite from Napa. Definitely ready to go.

Massively layered with dark fruit on the palate and even at this stage not very obviously young, the tannins being fairly unobtrusive, acidity in no way excessive and all elements of the palate behaving in a harmonious way.

Intensely dark with seductive aromas of ripe red huckleberry, black cherry and a hint of milk chocolate with almonds. An impressive palate performance begins with a silky smooth tap dance followed by a rapidly escalating texture that envelopes the tongue. Notes of pepper and clay develop and evolve into a powerful fireworks finish. The dark, ripe wine masterfully represents Colgin’s IX Estate, its only eastern valley vineyard located in the volcanic region of Pritchard Hill (1100 to 1400 feet elevation) with well-drained reddish clays and weathered igneous rocks. An absolute delight to enjoy after 3-6 hours of air.

Great wine in the making. Clearly not living up it’s potential at this stage but surprisingly drinkable. Wonderful nose of black currents, blackberries with some floral and earth. On the palette very rich, pure and full bodied. 98+

Drinking perfectly although of course could age another 10-15 yrs. As good as the 2016 dominus which to me is a perennial perfect wine
