Another fantastic example why I love 14 vintage because this is another wine maybe less in structure but with a tension that is amazing and the evolution after five days that to the bottle that was open was amazing

Dark Ruby. Sour cherry, vanilla and...burned rubber(?). Herbal. Mid-weight palate with good acidity and fine, slightly dusty tannins. Meduim length aftertaste. Okay, but I have come to expect more from this producer. It wouldn't hurt to hold this bottle for a few years, but I am not at all convinced it will help, either.
7/17/23 - Here we are 2 1/2 years later and after trying another bottle...my opinion really hasn't changed much. It still has this weird burned rubber thing going on. Still has great acidity. Maybe an 84?

Surprisingly a bit green and herbal. Palate is soft, less structured and expected but accessible now. Mid weight. Kinda interesting but not typical of my experience with Sangiovese blends.

What a disappointment. Torrione is one of my favorite wine but this vintage is really not up to standard. In other years, it’s a wine that has brunello di montalcino quality, this year, it tastes like a chianti normale. I will try another bottle soon to see if it’s just a bad one.

Tried it at the store. Too much reductions on the nose and there is this smell of rubber that just turned me off. In the mouth a little better but really why bother better things out there for the same price.

From memory. Medium-bodied, balanced acidity, soft tannins. Served slightly chilled, this worked very well with rich Italian fare. Nothing particularly memorable in terms of flavor profile, but worked well in a supporting role. I can see why restaurants like to have this on their list.

Ordered a bottle over dinner at Jamie's Italian Manchester. Less than ideal stemware but wine still showed. Appearance is clear, deep intensity, purple colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of warm sweet baking spices, ripe dark red cherries, black cherries, slight earth, flitting purple flowers. Asphalt with more air. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol (13.5%), smooth velvety high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of black cherries, ripe dark red cherries, sour red cherries, sweet bakin soices, chocolate, slight earth. Medium+ finish. Very good quality. Made in an approachable ready to drink now style. Not for long term ageing beyond 5 years. 80% Sangiovese, 15% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Previously labelled as Toscana IGT, now it is under Val d'Arno di Sopra DOC.

Served at the ambient temperature of 22°C+ unfortunately, but the wine stands up to the challenge. Silky, soft tannins, juicy and sweet cherries, nice touch of tar, good body without excessive weight, perfectly integrated oak, floral notes, pure and bright style, displays a lovely elegance, good length. Quite delicious, for drinking young (now-2020). At Jamie's Italian, Oxford, UK.

Tried another bottle with Coravin. Good simple wine but not up to standard. Very disappointing in this vintage

Reductive, hollow. Trying to find something promising, something worth waiting for.
Nah.
