deeply colored, strong core of dark fruits, plenty of tea and mushroom notes, integrated oak spice. on the palate high acidity, broad mid palate, very fine and completely integrated tannins. balanced wine with great length, intensity, very good complexity. just a bit past its peak IMO but man do his wines stand the test of time... impressive

Easily our favorite Oregon Pinot as far as aging - this just keeps getting better. Lots of dark fruit, and honestly, kind of a "magical" finish that is truly awesome. Doug and Brick House truly make stuff you can hide in your cellar - and it will just keep getting better.

Stood for a couple of weeks and decanted gently for sediment right before service. Pristine cork. Black fruits, baking spice and dried flowers on the nose. Sweet black plum fruit with spice cake and nice acidity. Not showing a lot of age, just the sweet roundness of the Pinot fruit gives it away. Not spectacular but much better than a couple of bottles of '98 Les Dijonnais from the same source.

Notes from day 1. 1 hour decant. Red color with faint bricking. On the nose sour cherry, worn leather, fall leaves, little underbrush and spice. Palate of red raspberry, little cherry, moist earth, some baking spices. The finish was persistant and above average length with a good amount of acidity still left. Overall the wine was really nice and really liked by all, only problem I had was the nose was a little lighter than I would have preferred. Still a very nice auction find and the dinners said it went really well with the pork dish served. Drink: 50+5+11+17+7

Lovely. Little to no bricking. Very vibrant fruit along with classic Brick House spice notes. Red fruit mix of strawberry, cranberry and raspberry. Fantastic finish. Everyone's WOTN. Seems like this will be good for several more years.

solid, enjoyable pinot dominated by femine qualities and really shining with food. really good weight and mouthfeel to the wine...smoke dominated the secondary flavors and good balance of solid fruit.

Wow! Brick House is our #1 favorite aging Oregon Pinot. It comes out of the bottle as a spectular grande dame, maintaining great fruit, solid acidity, and a polish from aging that is unmatched by anything that Oregon produces. Again, wow!

popped and poured through aerator; Dark red colors; full nose of dark berries and some complex graphite/earth; body is less impressive as it is starting to get short on the finish

With Sam and Pam at 48 Nights. A perfect complement to a Porchetta and Polenta dish. Nice red fruits that remain strong after 10 years. Never, ever opened a Brick House bottle that was "past its peak." Exceptional.

4 hour decant. medium dark maroon, with faint bricking in rim. Legs are very thick and slow. Primarily animale and metal on the nose. The palate is rather monochromatic -- not much depth or complexity. A good tannic backbone, but the fruit is old and tired. However, the finish is suprisingly clean given the flabby nature of the fruit.

50 points for being there; color=5/5; nose=12/15; flavor&finish= 15/20; overall quality= 9/10. Color is a rich, dark maroon with thick, slow legs. The nose is wonderfully complex with an initial slate component followed with juniper berries, boysenberries, vanillin/caramel. Enjoyably, most of the elements on the nose carry through on the palate. A wonderful melange of slate, cane fruits and children's chewable asprin on the initial attack gives way to a long lush finish of caramel and wild mushrooms. Terrific balance, every flavor stands out in it's own way, but nothing dominates or overpowers. Well-balanced concentration: just enough to give great length and flavor, but not so much that it gets flabby. Great tannic balance as well. It would seem that "well-balanced" is the theme of this bottle. This is just a great, well-crafted bottle of Pinot noir.

Opened with St. Innocent Brick House from same vineyard; both tasting great, but the other one won out due to the price; still this one has a little more aging potential

At Margot & Richie Tedoro's. Followed the 04 Pur Sang w Joe's Stone Crabs(mediums - the mediums are still the most flavorful!). Decanted for two hours before dinner, was still reticent, so I tried the Vinturi aerator which improved it somewhat. Is yet to fully reveal or resolve itself, so I will wait for another 2 years. More closed mouth Burgundian, than ripe new world.

Strong dark fruits, slightly leathery/tobacco. As always, Brick House is a solid citizen that has never let me down when it is aged. Still has a couple of years - but will reward you right now as well.

Glad we waited on this one. Had that distinctive Brick House nose - elegant amongst Oregon Pinot's. None of the "fizzyness" I sometimes run into on Brick House wines. Really opened up in the glass.
