Very pleasing -- some iodide in the dark nose. Smooth, round, medium-weight body with dark fruit, slight minerality, no complexity, still a bit of structure. A bit of freshness still, but this wine needs to be finished off.

Continuing to drink down the remainder of this previously-lost case. The wine is dark, big, and plummy with some iodide in the nose. Not unpleasant to drink and fine for an informal pasta dinner, which is why I chose it, but it's nothing special.

Another bottle from a re-discovered case that should have mostly been drunk a while ago -- as one would expect, plenty of variation from bottle to bottle. This is one of the lesser bottles. Iodide and somewhat oxidative aromas and flavors, very meaty, medium-light, smooth. Not terrible, but on the down slope.

Fresher than previous bottle a month or so ago. Part of the freshness, amazingly, is due to the non-prestige glass. I am using the tulip glass that one tastes from barrel with at DRC, Leroy, Chandon-de-Briailles, and Clos de Tart. That seems to keep the wine fresher and darker in fruit; the previous bottle, I only drank from Riedel Vinum Burgundy glass and when I tried a similar glass with this bottle, the wine faded.
Anyway, plenty of cassis fruit in nose and mouth with a medium-light weight and some silkiness to the texture. Still very fresh, but the wine is still somewhat simple and I doubt that it will gain additional complexity (although one can be wrong -- see early vintages of Mas de Daumas Gassac and how they have evolved).

Drinking incredibly well right now! Clear in the glass, moderately pronounced nose, smooth on the palate. The tannins have softened, leaving a luxurious mouthfeel with just enough tautness to remain interesting.

Wine Education Service - Langedoc: Just opaque. Aromas of slate, a little fruit, savoury, some vegetal development. Tannic and acidic, not much fruit, gamey.

Lovely clear color and earthy nose and taste. Faded but still pleasant.

Very reduced, even after many hours in a decanter. Not completely undrinkable, but not interesting.

Spiced and peppery with dark plum fruit. Enjoyable and no rush to drink.

Dark, gutsy, powerful. Nice combination of grip and spice.
