A definite step up from his regular 2016 beaujolais tasted last week. Much cleaner. Light but with complexity. Perfect bistro wine. Would probably drink these over the next 3 years or so.

First Metras. Very good. Translucent and slightly cloudy, but not funky or dirty. Decent amount of trapped CO2. Very distinctive. I liked it, but probably not running back for more at these prices.

As always with Metras, it’s hit or miss or somewhere in the muddled middle. This started very funky and barnyard dirty but with about 45 mins in glass it opened to more red fruits, floral, with an acidic tang on finish. Good if you have time for it to open but tariffs too high for these anymore.

Elegant, flowing wine with a cool climate character. Cranberries and strawberries are the focus, though there is a hint of darker plum fruit and plenty of mushroomy earth. A good alternative to burgundy. Drink now.
Tasted at Majordomo (LA).

Bright cherry, raspberry and mineral nose, palate is fresh, light but it,s got real persistence to it, glass barely down when you’re already thinking about the next sip!

Slightly volatile at first, but quickly blew off. Crunchy red fruits, purple flowers, bright acid, med body
