This shows its AVA handsomely. Dark and brooding fruit, almost exotic, with tannins softened since first released. Pipe tobacco and spice notes. As it opened up, it became more and more pleasurable. Unfortunately my only bottle. Looking forward to other Cristom wines in my collection.

some stain up the cork; light as a feather and reticent on p/p; opens up on day two with ripe strawberry/cherry, earth, some herb, wood; clean citric acid and tannins on the finish; good food wine, but never quite clicked for me

Lots of good PN fruit, offset with good acid. But acid predominates on the finish. I'd prefer some interesting changes in the mouth rather than the same unchanging taste fading into acid.

30-minute air. Plus aromatics. Classic baking spice. More red than black cherry. Light-medium body. Plus acidity. In perfect drinking zone. Long finish. Lost a bit second night.

medium red color, sweetish red fruit on the pretty nose but also a strong dose of oak, on the palate very nice ripe cherry tones- black and red- plums, light spice notes, oak less of a presence on the solid mid-weight palate, good finish but with a bit of warmth, drinking nicely now and could develop some with cellaring.

Willamette Valley Weekend Visit; 5/26/2018-5/27/2018: Tasting at the winery. Red and black cherry with clearly charming spice. Ever-so-slightly firm and backward, but lots of everything good here. Needs time.

Tasted at the Skurnik Grand Portfolio Tasting in NYC. Poured by Steve Doerner, winemaker. Very similar to the other two single vineyard bottleings tasted today. I would put thuis as slightly less fruity than the Eileen and slightly firmer and more structured than the Jessie with a nise floral character. my second favorite of the Cristom wines poured.

Tonight's tasting note for Cristom Louise Vineyard 2015 Pinot:
Opened and allowed to slow ox for 2 hours, then gently decanted prior to serving. Spent 45 additional minutes in glass while we dealt with aggressive, threatening homeless person on front porch. After police arrived to tell us he was just a local mentally deranged person who only was attempting to break into our house (why not, we're awesome), despite two unhappy Dobermans waiting on the other side of the door. They let him walk back to his "aunt's" house, and that was that. All parties survived--wine included. Duck got cold. Earthy, bloody, with hints of leather and very ripe blackberry on the nose. Medium acidity, medium minus tannin. Earthy, bloody, with leather, mushroom, cinnamon, almonds, cooked black cherry and black currants throughout the palate. Fantastic effort, and a wine we'll consistently look for. 91-92

Last bottle. Still fresh and vibrant. Wine is in a great window right now. Might have more time but this is really good right now.

Decanted >1 hour. Light red fruit with hints of vanilla, spice and cola. Easy to drink, the vintage is aging well.

Red fruited, light to medium body, refined. There is a seamlessness to this. Enjoy now and over the next ten to twelve years.

It’s tasty! Yet these riedel Bordeaux glasses are killing it.
