The ratings are right. Wonderful smooth ready. Give it some air. I am finding Paso 16’s to be very approachable right now. Time not running out nor any decline but most are impressing

3 hour decant (it needed it); Massive wine full of rich, black fruit, tannin, tobacco, iodine, bacon fat, roasted beef, and oak. Acidity cuts through the fruit nicely, and the finish is long and palate-coating. Amazing wine! High abv but you don't really notice it in the aroma or taste. Might have noticed it the next morning however. Still just a baby at 7 years old, so drink or hold at this point. Will drink nicely well into the 2030s.

Sorry Drank a few weeks ago and lost my brief notes, only remember my score. Kids and work are killing my ability to keep notes top of mind and freshly updated.

Decanted 4 hrs. Dark garnet with highly concentrated fruit: black raspberry, currant, cassis, roasted game, glycerin, with well integrated tannins and long finish. An outstanding wine. Paired perfectly with marinated grilled antelope.

Decanted for a couple hours then found this to be a deep, brooding syrah with gobs of bacon fat and stewed meats on the palate in the first hour or so. Over time the mouvedre and grenache content mellowed this a bit...a really great wine overall.

Can’t rate this at this point. I opened this way to early and immediately had regret. In your face tannins that made it hard to drink, huge nose of blackberry, boysenberry, licorice, anise, black cherry, cinnamon and nutmeg. It got better with a couple hours in a decanter and running it through an aerator at least 4 times... Hold off for 3-5 years to try this bad boy, it shows promise of the high rating it received, but it’s not there yet.

Ripe and robust. Deep vibrant purple and intense spice and dark fruited aromas. Many years ahead.

Wonderfully made wine, but drank about a decade early. Extensive decanting helped, but the wine was too tightly wrapped and never really showed.
