sadly my last 2016. had many weeks ago but recall this having immediate nose of white stone fruit/sweet lemons, wet rocks; sweet lemon curd with great acidity and minerality; pretty pale color; pretty finish

this was one of the best Boillot CCs i've had. reductive, matchstick nose. amazing medium+ body;lemon and almost tangerine like fruit, amazing acidity, mineral notes and a long long finish.

Popped and poured. Medium yellow. Deep flinty nose, rich aromas of lemon honey. Palate has medium high viscosity and weight, without much energy and cut to the flavors. Great nose, ok palate.

La Paulée de NY Grand Tasting (Pier 60 - NYC): Smoky reductive nose with rich orchard fruit lurking beneath. Wow, this has incredible richness and density with intense minerality and brightness. Great ying and yang. 93+

Dinner with Henri Boillot (Chicago, IL): If I thought that the 2013 was reduced, this brought it to a whole new level. The latest iteration of this wine feels extremely primary, and there's still some bubbly fruit that hasn't yet settled underneath the oak and flint. In fact, the fruit is still slightly sweet. I would expect this to tighten up forther in the next few months, but this is an incredibly delicious package already. This is a wine in great balance, and I think the only reason that this wasn't my wine of the flight was because this was just too damn young. I'm guessing that with time, this will win out over the great 2013.

Nose has some deep bass. Matchstick. Salty. Ginger. A bit shy. Lemon on the palate. Excellent balance the finish is just killer - huge lemon and minerality. Fans out and explodes. Nose - 5/6, Palate - 5/6, Finish - 5.5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1.5/2 = 17/20.

WE had many 2016's. This was in the middle. Better than the Roulot Vieuils and CC. 93

Wow! Reduction and plenty of tropical fruit. Before it’s peak but clearly has the class of a grand cru. Drink for the next 5-7 years

La Paulée 2019 Grand Tasting of 2016 Burgundy (Pier 60, New York): Attractively complex nose. Ripe, medium weight, long feel redolent of clay and sand. Some real creaminess. Not a monster, but refined and classy.
