Im Glas purpurfarben, Bukett nach dunklen Früchten, Schwarzkirsche, am Gaumen kompakt, festes Gerüst, Tannine abgeschliffen, jedoch präsent, würzig, dunkle Früchte, Zimt, Gewürznelken, am 2.Tag gezähmter, sehr guter Speisebegleiter.

Mid red in colour. I really like the nose, with darker fruits coming to the fore, ripe cherry & spice of cinnamon & clove, quite perfumed. The palate is full, round & very balanced, nice weight & such lovely soft velvety dark fruits. Excellent drinking.

Red-black. Aroma of black cherry and tobacco. Oak and cherry flavours, with redcurrant and pomegranate prominent. Solid, tannic food wine, with balancing acidity. Very good.

Been a year since I last tried this, and it has smoothed out a bit, but it’s still young, fresh Sangiovese. My gosh I love what this grape does in Tuscany. Bright acidity, crisp red fruit, finishing structure for around $20-$25. Such an easy choice.

From 75cl, good cork. Decanted 30 minutes, best early on, and required cooling to keep it nearer cellar temperature than the 26C we have on the terrace at 9pm this evening. This excellent CC is super-ripe, low-acid, dark-fruited and thus rather untypical for a non-Riserva (the tannic grip and depth of a Riserva is of course missing). This make for fun, moreish, easy drinking, but probably a short life. My taste has moved quite clearly to brighter, perhaps less commercial CCs e.g. Fontodi and Felsina. 88P(?)

From 75cl, good cork. Another delicious bottle of this excellent CC. Unpretentious but expressive scent, with herbal and balsamic notes; relatively weighty and surprisingly (for a CC) dark-fruited entry; lovely bright cherry fruit on the mid-palate; deliciously acidic, dry-tannic finish. Classy for €15/75cl German retail, has several years in store. Rebuy! 89P

dark rubyb, clear colour. nose: very ripe macerated cherris and black cherries; robustm, intesne with some sweet plum notes. taste: medium (+) acid, soft tannins; balanced, easy, loads of sweet cherries; absolutely pleasant, easy and elegant. long refreshning finis. Very good - But is it Chianti Classico anymore?

Cherry fruit, medium body for a Chianti, leans more new word with less old world funky/oaky though it’s still there nicely in the background.

This was really good. Fairly simple, soft, bright cherry, lighter style but well-balanced and delicious.

Bright cherry fruit and some drying tannins on the finish. Young Chianti being exactly what it is supposed to be.

Balanced with a dry touch. Medium body. Fresh and ready to drink but a couple of years resting might improve it some.

Russk. Brought to the CDC. Didn't stand up well against the others. Not that bad, just not interesting or mature enough. Wait a few more years.

Russk. A very linear, clean, classy CC, with very good cut (minerality?). Nice acidity. 90+ pts. Not fruity. Not rustic. Would buy again.

Lovely round fruit, much better balance than most of the 16s in the tasting. Medium length. Pleasant drinking. Give it 2-3 years.
