Pretty restrained nose. Plum and blueberry with some tobacco. Medium weight. Cool black fruits. Smooth. Dark chocolate hints. Slightly chalky tannins. Herbal finish.

This one is thick and chunky with huge berry preserve on the nose and palate. Not much of anything else other than a bit of spice and heat. A little boring.

2nd wine opened at business meeting, my opinion is it was much better than the Carano. Fuller body in the glass, bigger nose of typical Cali Cab fruit and oak, richer and lusher on the palate. Nothing out of the ordinary here, just a solid Cab.

Drank at a biz dinner at Kirby's in Plano. It was the better of the two wines of the night (the other being 2004 Ferrari-Carano Cabernet Sauvignon). It was the fuller bodied of the two, drinking well now. Pretty standard cali cab, and I won't assign a rating since this was a work function and I couldn't get good specific notes, but if I had to guess I'd say 88-89.

Lush, hedonistic cab. Not surprising to read that some of the vineyards are from Alex. Valley. Long finish. 2nd day: not better, perhaps a bit less integrated (i.e., tastes cheaper).

Needed time to open up, better on day 2. Decent cab, some nice berry fruit, no obtrusive oak, hollow on the mid-palate.

Excellent cab! Drank after a cocktail, can't remember too much. It did improve over 1 hour.
