  • {screwcap, 14%} Fairly dark garnet for Pinot, especially at seven years. Initially very muted nose, but it picked up some black cherry, earth, tobacco aromas with time. Definitely needs air. The palate is fairly savoury, although still obviously new world. Smoky, I assume fairly oaked, although it’s more texture than flavour. Medium powdery tannins, very fine, give hte twine medium weight, but there’s not really hte fruit depth to back it up. Low/medium acidity. Short/medium finish. It’s ok but not really convincing. Curious that a ‘project’ wine doesn’t say more about the grape origin than just Tasmania. Cellaring not needed.
