Colour is gold showing maturity. Nose is mature but remains pleasant with oak prominent and stonefruit background and pears. Full and rich, good fruit on the palate, pineapples, oranges. Huge complexity. Long. Excellent overall.

Always brilliant. AT peak drinking now. Will develop for many years but will be a richer dark old style Chardonnay as it ages for another 20 years. Drink now if you prefer the fresher style.

First meal in Sydney for 9 months for me as I am from Melbourne where we have just come out from lockdown. To celebrate the occasion, we had this bottle at Mode, the bistro at the 4 Seasons hotel in Sydney. A wonderful drop - a beautiful nectarine and peach nose followed by a well integrated body. Acid was there but not over the top and the oak was holding the show but not shouting front he rooftop. Beautiful mouth feel - well weighted with a well rounded finished. Drank too early though. Another 5+ years before it gets into its peak.

Can’t rate this as high as the Giaconda but it is good. Rich caramel flavours. Plenty of fresh peach. Had with some freshly caught southern calamari squid. Great match

Terroir-istes International - Australia-Margaret River Chardonnay (Overgaauw Wine Estate): (Tasted Blind): Again, fresh and vibrant with plenty of lemon, lime blossom, floral note and white pear. The wine is zingy and fresh on entry, and there is more richness to the mid-palate with a touch of butter, nut and toasty oak but set against a plethora of lemon rind, fresh yellow apple, sea spray and Pomelo. The wine has plenty of character but falls away from a task at the finish. Nicely textured there is a suppleness. Fantastic

Beautiful nose: butter and vanilla, with a saline note and minerality. On the palate, light to medium-bodied dry wine with lively acidity and medium alcohol. This is chardonnay at its best: fatty, savoury but also a clean finish with some minerality coming through. Very good finish. This is already very good but it feels like it will gain intensity and complexity with further ageing.

10 months French oak maturation, 30% of which was new. Rich nose of nougat/almonds, lime butter, chestnuts and spiced biscuits – the winemaker artifice is clear here, seemed to me to be smothering the fruit? Palate is better, not heavy but with good density, some French oak spiciness along with yellow stone fruit, brown pear and yogurt. A very good wine but I’d take two bottles of the Flame tree SRS over one bottle of this every day of the week.

An old favourite. Lots of well developed flavours. Pineapple and lemon fruit combo. Plenty of oak and fruity flavours.
