What to have with meatloaf...hmm how about a past it's prime (yes, it's a new year) Beaujolais Nouveau. For what it's meant to be, it was very good. Young fruit to compliment the slight sweetness that carrots can add to meatloaf.

Beautiful color, fresh fruit forthe nose. Served before T-day dinner and was a hit for everyone (even those that don't usually drink wine). Won't overpower anything and, as it should be, was an extremely easy drinking quaff. The more serious of us moved on to Syrah and Reisling with dinner, but those that stayed with the Beaujo (including myself) were not disappointed. Hens, stuffing, cranberries, beans, red-sauce pasta, and even the chocolate ice-cream cake were all tasting great with this juice.

A decent beaujolais nouveau -- lots of bright fruit, limited metalic flavors burned off a few minutes after opening.
