Had lots of Ken Wright Pinots over the years, this is my first time enjoying this vineyard offering. PnP. Made in a riper, richer, and fuller style: ripe plums, cherry cola, black raspberry, sweet baking spices, black herbal tea, and rich chewy black dirt. Well integrated, the unobtrusive structure provides balance and support. Ends medium long. Worked perfectly with the spicy Cajun salmon, dirty rice, cauliflower, and broccoli. Very nice, drink through 2027.

Pnp... enjoyed in a horizontal tasting of 6x 2017 Ken Wright Pinots purchased 2 years ago fro garagiste. All were very good but the Shea and Freedom Hill were everybody's favorite

Pale Ruby, filtered Aromatics medium. Strawberry, sweet cherry. Subtle umami. Palate has medium body. Acid medium +. Tannins medium, fine grained. Alcohol medium. Ripe cherry. Later some chalky minerality. Finish has a medium length. Balanced Overall this is a nice wine. Lot of recent reviews seemed less than impressed. I do agree there's nothing really spectacular here but it seemed like a well made, balanced Oregon pinot just not super complex. I bought this as part of a horizontal from garagiste. If I hadn't drunk this one today I would recommend holding on your bottle to see if some other secondaries/tertiaries come into play over time.

I was so disappointed with this wine. It was drinkable but lacked anything interesting except that it was wine and it tasted like wine. Reviews for this maker were good and this bottle unfortunately is dissuading me from buying another in the future.

How can a great winemaker take a great source and turn out such a flat and lifeless effort? No Bueno. I love Shea and up until this bottle have loved KWC wines. This one missed the mark by a wide margin. No nose, no depth no nuttin' honey. Had to toss the last half of the bottle. I have another bottle that will either confirm this judgement as a well made crummy wine or establish it as an outlier.
Full nose, but sort of muddy. Tightens up in the mouth with cherry, strawberry and strong acidity. Big but tight fruit. Light tannins. Big mouthfeel, long finish. A little disjointed, I think this will get better with time.

Day #2...375ml...the wine is developing, well trying to at least at this early stage. Better than Day #1. Love it, see a bright future if delicious now, 3 bottles for the life of the wine on stash.

Day #1...375ml...testing for future an 8oz burgundy glass over 4 hours. Drank solo, then w food (pasta, chicken, salad) then back to solo. Delicious, even though so early, very kindly suprised, it is so darn tasty!
Great fresh fruity nose (reminded me of 2016 Janasse VV CDP also tested early) full of fresh berries in your face. Taste is pleasing, pure fresh fruit, delicate Pinot wrapped in a firm yet still gentle rounded body, so easy to sip from beginning to the end gulp. Seamlessly integrated on maybe all aspects, nothing spectacular yet, but darn good now, solid, and truly this is just an astoundingly well made wine. No smell or taste of alcohol. Not drying. No long finish.

Really nice Pinot from Ken Wright. A little sweet on the first sip, more than expected, but a very long, rich finish.

Rich cherry fruit on the nose and palate. Good density on the mid palate, with fabulous structure. Fine grained tannins and a long finish. Wonderful.
