  • Deep ruby. Nose of black cherry and blueberry. Bold and smooth, but not a lot of complexity.

Boire d'ici 2-3 ans. 91++

  • dark, inky in appearance. nose is fruity, welch's, black and blue berries, vanilla, but there's balance with a determined herbal and loamy quality along with spearmint. palate is balanced as well, some acidic pop but the texture is velvety and supple. with time and air, the flavour grows more and more savoury. good juice this.

  • Deep ruby, Malbec and cab franc blend, medium nose of cooked blueberry and blackberry, oak, clove.
Dry, medium tannins, high acid, high %, medium body. Pronounced flavors which match the nose well, lots of blue fruit and oak spice, a beautiful pepper note coming off the cab franc. Baked blueberry pie. Wonderful lingering long finish. Rates a Very good, only really missing some complexity. Got half a case on sale, super happy with this one. 4.2

  • Reminds me of a Saint-Émilion!

  • Deep beautiful ruby colour.
Crunchy herbaceous nose full of white pepper and barnyard.
The mouthful is wonderfully surprising. Silky, smooth, very well balanced with finely integrated tannins that still have plenty of life left in them.
A beautiful drink now, or save for a few years to come. Excellent quality wine

  • 2012 Trapiche Iscay Malbec and Cabernet Franc was herbal and intense. The blend of Malbec and Cabernet Franc was almost opaque and deep purple in colour with large pieces of sediments. The nose was dominated by intense herbal seaweed, underneath was dark berries, tobacco and violets. An hour of decanting did not help mellowing the herbal characters. On the palate, it was full-bodied, with medium-high acidity and a rather high level of chalky tannin. The strong seaweed flavours in the medium finish reminded me of Japanese seaweed miso soup.
I had a mixed feeling about this wine. On one hand, it was impressive that the 15% alcohol was concealed in the richness and the flavours of the wine. On the other hand, the herbal characters were too dominant to be called a balanced wine.
The wine was fermented and macerated in concrete vats for 25 days, followed by 18 months of aging in new French oak barrels with natural malolactic fermentation.

  • Fantastic, well balanced, Mendoza wine. Quite restrained and a delight to drink. No over ripeness or over extraction. One of the best I have tasted from the area. No Parkerization here.
