Really delicious fruit made in a very approachable style. Got a bit confused after being open awhile then came together just as we were finishing the bottle. Decant an hour if you want to avoid that.

Wow! This really shows how great 2016 was in the Rhône. This CdR is easily on a par or above CdP from lesser years.
Splash decanted then started to drink about 30 minutes later. On the nose there's herbs, spice, dark fruit. The palate is very smooth and well-balanced: blueberry, pepper, nice acidity, earthy hints, smooth tannins, a little tobacco and leather. The finish is quite long and spicy.
This is great value at the ~US$18 that I paid. I shall definitely be getting a case or two in.

Now we’re talking. Compared to the entry-level Côtes du Rhöne this is a wine with slightly higher price tag, but in return also a substantial better quality. The color is deep red and notes of ripe black fruit and savory spices explodes from the glass. The taste is powerful and with a long finish. If I didn’t knew what I was drinking, people could easily fool me into thinking I was drinking Chateauneuf du Pape - yep it’s that good! Definitely a wine I would recommend seeking out.

Dusty, earthy and silky. Red and black fruits, tannins in check. Balanced and smooth. Great value.
