Black fruit dominates this surprisingly good vintage as I always looked upon Simi as overrated and commercial. Great Plum, black cherry and spice to medium tannins finish makes this one a really good wine for this price point. I doubt I'll find much more 2015 anywhere as this was the best of their lot for some time.

First glass I did not let it breathe so it was initial a touch harsh. Ten minutes later it was nice and smooth. We had it with a chicken/rice/onion/tomato dish. The meal did not alter the taste.

BBQ late Apr 2019: dark crimson color; black currant and vanilla in the nose; fruity and gentle, with a touch of noble adstringency on the palate; medium body.

A good reminder to check CellarTracker BEFORE buying. Other members got it...medium bodied, juicy red fruit, vanilla oak and very little tannin. Clean and boring.

I am at Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando so the retail bottle price is what I am paying for a glass! Anyway, it's decent CA cab. What you'd expect and good bottle when the wine isn't necessarily the focus of what you are doing or for who you are serving. Nothing bad about that. THis isn't the one of those wines where people will stop what they are doing and go "Whoa!". An I mean that both on the negative or positive extreme. But what would you expect for the price....
Fruit opens up the palate. Mostly blackberry. Vanilla laced with an earthen floor. Finishes a bit nutty/woody. Nothing extreme. Medium across the board on tannins, acidity and alcohol. I bet 13.5 - 14. Finish lingers on the earth and wood notes a bit too much for me. Overall though, fair value for everyday CA Cab

13.5% alcohol, light foil, composite cork, medium legs, dark red/brown, week nose, some fruit detectible; vinturied and tasted right away at ca 20 degrees C, medium bodied, pretty well balanced among sour/tannins/fruit/alcohol with sour predominating, notes of minerals, graphite, and stone fruits; nice & smooth, will pair with almost anything but especially with hard or soft cheeses, or drink solo

Basic. Good. Not as smooth as I've had. Great Cabernet flavor but enough bite and fruit forward to turn me off a tiny tiny bit but still remain complex and pleasing.

Good value Cab. It's not terribly complex and has a short finish but has decent body and acidity, with smooth tannins.

Glass pour at a Restaurant. Okay, a little too much residual sugar for my tastes. Decent concentration and acidity.

Pretty good Alexander Valley Cab. Fruit forward, black fruits, easy to drinking. Pretty standard for this price range.
