  • Opened and let sit in the bottle 3 hours to come up to temp before decanting for an hour. Intense dark fruits on the nose, wine is a deep purple/garnet at the edges.

We drank with an adult dinner of cheeses and bread. The first thing that hits you is the fruit here - very concentrated, very fruit forward - super long 8-10 second finish. The roquefort was probably the only cheese able to cut through the fruit and it was a v nice combo. Everything else was overpowered by the fruit here.

Think I'll wait to see the fruit recede a little on these over the coming years but I'm excited to see where these 2014 Sympa's go.

  • Wonderful wine. Rich and creamy with black cherry and dark plums up front. Mid-palate notes of mocha, black licorice, baking spice, earth and toasty oak Supple tannins, long finish. Great now but no rush.

  • Supplemental wine in a seven course wine and food pairing NYE party.
The cab served in the 6th course was so amazing and it went so quickly that I opened this while the 7th course was being prepared. This was served with just a short decant and yet showed beautifully. Dark and earthy with nice fruit and good supporting structure. If I had tasted blind might of guessed from Las Piedras Vineyard. Really nice.
