Fairly deep color with brick rim. Aromatics are nice - cherry, leather, stones, old wood and dust. Medium plus body, hot! With lots of woodiness, and a beam of pure red cherry. And cordial cherry on the finish. Good, but rather one dimensional for a Brunello. Was wanting more complexity and less heat. Bonus points for the pure red cherry profile.

Color at the rim is a bit orange-ish. Nose of sarsaparilla, red fruits, red leather, and some floral notes. Palate layers plum, dates, paprika, and pepper atop soft, velvety tannins. Earthy start to the finish, followed by dry red fruits, cherry pit with a light butter note, and acidity on a medium plus length finish, adding a saline note at the end. This wine was surprised us... it was really singing tonight - wish we had more.

Completely under whelming. The total lack of character and depth makes me wonder if this id flawed, but there is no sign of TCA or heat. All structure with no fruit or or secondary notes. Drinks like a low end Chianti. Will drink my remaining bottle soon to see what it tells.

A nice burgundy to rust color. A bright fresh feel and taste. Scents of lavender, chestnuts, and tobacco fill the glass. A tart tannic potion with cherry, fig, and rhubarb. A lively wine that is drinking well and should stand tall for a decade. 92 points.

First 2 bottles from a case purchased from Wine Library at about $25/bottle, partially on the basis of Monica Larner's 93 point WA review (NB, the WA review is under "Capanne Ricci Brunello", and not "Tenimenti Ricci"), but also knowing I'd still end up with a decent pizza wine at the very least. Popped'n poured and drank with friends (coincidentally, w/pizza), and this was drinking wonderfully. Probably in its early drinking window - bright cherry fruit, silky texture, nice finish, and a great QPR if you can find it in that same $25/bottle range. I don't know if the '13 Brunellos will be as good across the board as the '10s, but these two bottles made a compelling argument.

A gift from my client from earlier today, I decided to open. Thanks Lenny !!
I am posting PNP notes. Tomorrow I will add 2nd day notes. Tonight ... A bit of a mild version of a brunello. Aromas are bright and unripened cherry laden. On the palette this is unfortunately weak and watery with a light red fruit driven experience.
Red fruit dominated with mostly cherry and additional unripened plum juice. That makes this a bit of a letdown. On the finish there are lingering notes of tobacco, leather and spice but presented with a watery texture.
Overall the finish of the wine is acidic and unbalanced. I do think the wine is too young to open. There are elements of the structure that tell me this can improve.

Not much excitement to be found here, but it's a good value for those that care. The nose offers tobacco, fresh leather, etc., but ultimately the nose and palate are on the simple side of things. A touch of EtOH pokes through; soil and freshness aren't too evident here. 14,0% abv. OK is my rating, and I'm going to stick with it. ;-)
A Season of Change: 2013 Brunello di Montalcino: The nose showed bright cherry and spice with hints of tobacco and dried flowers. On the palate, I found silky textures with persistent red berry fruit and sweet spice, yet it lacked the thrust of the best wines. The finish was medium in length, as a bump of acidity added a lively tang to the finale.

Compared to my previous note of a few years ago, I think this wine has evolved well. Enjoy!

Pretty average on P&P with lasagne. Improved a bit with time but nothing to get too excited about.

Popped'n poured to go with a ham and black-eyed pea soup to bring in the new year. A good accompaniment to the soup, and a really good QPR.

I will file this under very good but not great. I don't see the 93 from RP but still a very nice effort.
