Deep ruby color (surprisingly so for a PN). Pronounced aromas of blackberry, currant, black cherry, spice, earth, forest floor. High acidity. Medium to high alcohol (14.2% per the bottle). Full bodied. Pronounced flavors consistent with the aromas. Long finish.

The varying flavors that CA pinots can give you is amazing. This was very enjoyable, unfortunately my last bottle of this vineyard and vintage. This is drinking so well now, so enjoy.

Much better than the bottle I had back in the beginning of October. This bottle was open for a few hours as opposed to a PNP back then. Dark red fruit on the nose. The palate was dark cherry, a touch of cranberry and spices. The finish was moderate to long.

A fairly perfect Pinot. Flavors of dark rich cherries with aromas of the same. Dark ruby color with a long finish. This finish also contributes to the "body" strength of this wine which is not quite as robust as the Famous Gate (Dom. Carneros) and not as light as the Scallop Shelf (Peay)....so it is in the middle. We paired with turkey (Thanksgiving leftovers) and it slightly overpowered the food (even the dark meat). I can see using this with more game birds (quail, duck, etc) or strong fish (salmon). Plenty of remaining life - at least another 2 -3 years.

We pnp'd at lunch. It definitely could have used an hour or so in the decanter which I am sure would have raised the score. Dark red fruit on the nose. The palate was dark cherry, a touch of cranberry and spices. The finish was moderate to long.

Decanted for an hour and consumed with grilled salmon and broccoli. Cherry, cranberry and boysenberry fruit, earth and a bit of spice. The cranberry aspect showed more on the second night. Good stuff, and that's coming from someone who doesn't really enjoy pinot. Certainly a different style from the Oregon pinot I've had. Drink now - 2026.

Tastes of ripe raspberry, cherry, blackberry, with mild spice and earthiness. Acidity is soft. A big California fruit-forward style that we enjoyed with beef tenderloin sandwiches and spicy aioli.

I made a dish that called specifically for a California Pinot Noir, so I chose this bottle, a retirement gift from a good friend. I was thankful when i received it, and even more so when my wife enjoyed it with a apple, honey and cinnamon pork roast.
The crispness of the wine, subtle yet readily apparent red cherry and balance more complemented the dish perfectly.

Refined and complex. Sour cherry, blackberry, cigar box, clove, and a tug of damp earth ramp up to a long, viscous finish. Drinking beautifully.

Excellent but slightly one dimensional now. Very clean palate of crisp black fruit and coolining minerals. Needs several more years.
