Inky garnet black. Decanted 30+ minutes. Definitely tertiary evolution of the fruit and savouries - rich, stewed black cherry and dried dates, plus tapenade and dark chocolate. Medium plus body and finish. Well-balanced. Very pleasant. Wouldn't have guessed Cab/Syrah blend - more like a Carinena/Garnacha mix from Priorat with some age on it. Paired with roast ham dinner.

I think Jeb D. usually is overly generous with his ratings, but in this case his 94 is an under-count. Hated to share it, but we’ve got more. C-K has always been a favorite. The blend of Cab & Syrah puts depth, richness and spice together in a package that, when well done, is unbeatable.

Excellent plum and black fruit aroma. Med body, peppery, black fruit flavors, mild oak and long finish. Marched nicely with sausage stuffed acorn squash.

Decanted and poured into glasses thru a Venturi. Continued to get better. Quiet, dark nose, but oh, that taste. Perhaps the Syrah added to the left bank blend has added depth as well as vanilla and pepper. Tannins present but soft. Strawberry and black cherry among the many flavors that are very mouth filling. Loooong, lingering finish.

Fantastic wine. If you were told going in that this was a wine from the US, on the first taste you would know to look elsewhere than Cali and be struck by the beauty of the Washington state profile that this wine brings. Very well done.

One of my favorite long shadows wines and this vintage did not disappoint. Lots of fruit and depth, modest tannins, long luxurious finish. Red cherry preserves, chocolate and just a hint of blackberry.

What a pleasant surprise - stunning deep blueberry colour. Decanted for an hour. Figs and dark fruits on the nose. The tannins have softened and thought the wine was very approachable. Decent finish and overall quality was either on par with or exceeding its cost. Even better with the ribs we had with it.
Recently had the 15 Pirouette - I preferred the Chester Kidder.
Young. Tannins still very prominent. Good acidity, and bold fruit flavors. Cab and Syrah notes well balanced. Has the acidity and tannins to pair well with a rich meal, although I drank it without food. I’ll hold for another 2-3 years.

It has been 2 years since we last had this vintage. Decanted >1 hour. Big red fruit in a typical Bordeaux way. Very “meaty” wine. Lot’s of flavor. Continues to mature.

I am a fan of Washington wines and keep trying to make myself like what is going on at Long Shadows, but just can't seem to get there. This wine is OK, but at this price point and with this level of buzz I expected more. Some nice hints of chocolate and leather but overall just a bit meh. With all the great things going on in Washington and all the great values I would likely not buy this again.

Enjoyed my first Long Shadows wine. This red blend followed on the heels of a Cayuse En Chamberlin Syrah and held its own. Featuring black fruits, with a little bright cherry from the Syrah, a little spicy dark chocolate from the Cabernet Franc, and some faint oak, leather, cigar, and a smooth mouth feel and finish. I would buy again.

Really big wine, powerful and chock full of very dark fruit and tannins. Still a bit rough, score reflects where I expect it to be in a couple of years.

Cabernet and Syrah blend. 30 months oak - full Malo on the Syrah. Inky black. Aromas of plum and bacon fat. Blackberry and black cherry. Lush, fairly pronounced tannin - gritty and dark. Sweet finish.

Decanted over an hour. Fresh berries laced with a bit of minerals and camphor. A slightly spicy note adds a unique twist to the wine. Full bodied with a long finish. Overall tends towards a smooth wine but an abundance of tannins adds a bit of an edge to it, though over the course of a meal the edge goes away. Will be an even better wine in a couple years.

This is a really big version of C-K. Lots and lots of fruit but just right in harmony, not piling on. Seems like this one will age a little longer and undoubtedly get even better. Too bad I rarely am able to hang on to one long enough to find out.

A friend and I tasted this at the Woodinville tasting room on 8/30/18. It had a deep, rich bouquet of violets, blueberry, blackberry, fig, licorice and spice aromas. The palate was tight and dry with flavors of blackberry, blueberry, licorice and spice.
