  • Have been pleasantly surprised by the quality of their Sonoma Cabernet, and the chardonnay can be added to this list also. PNP. Very pale-yellow in the glass. Aromas were a little shy at first but opened after exposure to air, revealing notes of ripe peach, honeysuckle and orange. Fruit flavors dominated, with tangerine, apricot, peach and honeydew melon up front with hints of almond and cut grass mixed in the background. Mouthfeel was big, fruit forward and thick delivered on an oily, bright texture. Smooth, moderately long finish. This chardonnay is all about the fruit, so those looking for a more French Chablis style presentation should probably look elsewhere. Excellent wine and very good QPR!

  • 14.5% alcohol, medium weight foil, appears to be real cork; long legs, medium yellow; nose of citrus, whiff of mint and menthol; tasted at ca 12 degrees C; full bodied, fruit subdued but powerful in the middle and back of the tongue, sides of the tongue experience a slight citrus/sourness that complements the fruit on top; the label reports how stainless steel and wood were both used in preparation of the wine, a procedure resulting in in an exceptional tasting experience; medium finish; pair with oily fish like Chilean sea bass or wild caught Coho salmon, fresh grilled on cedar boards; currently on mark-down at Costco and well worth it -- Axel Schug and his winemaker (if a different person) are to be complemented in achieving this outstanding Chardonnay
