Raisin, cigar, smoke, chocolate nose is so intense and rich. Sweetness and acidity comes in balance and texture is not too thick. Seems quite young but definitely drinkable. Shame I couldn’t fully appreciate the bottle as I brought this in BYOB.

Still strong after 8 years, this Amarone from Speri immediately reveals its strong character and very good potential in your glass. The nose is full of power brings some ruby port-wine nuances, charred nuts and pop-corn, then come to wild juicy cherry, some smokiness and spice. On the palate the wine is medium+ bodied, with good acidity and strong thin tannins. Long aftertaste.

Nose: Rose petals Palate: Strong tannins, black tea, bright fruit, medium acidity This wine would benefit from a few more years - very tight tannins need to mellow a bit

Deep inky garnet. Robust with dried black fruits and dried herbs on nose. Dry, rounded acidity, structured tannins, palate follows through. Full body. Very good balance (considering the muscle). Long finish. Classic Amarone albeit a bit medicinal.

70% Corvina veroneseCorvinone, 25% Rondinella, 5% Molinara Excellent, complex and ready for the show. It's a big and bold expression. So much going on. Love it.

Very good amarone but I must say it wasn’t a step up from many $40 ones I have had....checked the boxes but never elevated above an entry level amarone...that being said, I have never tried a $150-300 amarone so don’t know if those higher prices are worth it...

This is so pleasant, easy and enjoyable. The integration and balance make for a model amarone that everyone will enjoy, including people not likely to go for red wine if given a choice of drinks. Dried fruits, like raisin and fig give sweet and acidic tastes and a rustic touch. There 's even a bit of a bite. Personally I would have liked a bit more acidity and intensity. It 's not the pinnacle of amarone potential but if ever a wine could be said to be cordial, this is it.

Funny, a little more tart and tangy fruit to the nose. Maybe that is just me though. 100 days of drying. Denton gets a whole lotta chocolate on that. That is tightly wound right now.

With a touch more rich fruit on the nose and spice. Same vineyard as that of the Amarone. 50 year old vines on average. It is a wine that they made before Ripasso was ever made. This goes deeply on the roots of the region. A touch of drying process of the grape. 25 days of drying, just a touch. first 10 days is just stems, the next 15 they only loos about 7% of the weight. THey want to give the valpolicealla the best engine it can have but keep drinkability. Aged longer as well. Good acidity. 2 years in 500 L french oak.

Still very young.
Big potential.
Tons of red and black fruits.
Powerful as it should be.
To taste again the same vintage in ten more years.

Excellent! Better than the big brother the Valpolicella Ripasso.
