French white wine from Chablis: Chardonnay. 12,5 % alcohol. Aged for 12 months on fine lees in stainless steel tanks and barrels.
Light golden color.
Ripe aromas of brioche, pears, white flowers, lemon and wet stones. Powerful and fresh flavors of ripe yellow apples, green apples, peach and lemon. Minerality in the background.
A “not terrible/not great” Chablis without anything extra. Improves with air and works at both fridge and room temperature. Refreshing on its own and okay with food (Matjes Herring Salad). 86/100

La Chablisienne tasing. Terroir: Kimmerridge Old vines.
Light yellow colour. On the nose some spice, sweet fruits, vanillanotes hinting towards oak, someting butterlike. On the palate the wine has medium body, a fat feeling in the mouth, there is oak and a medium to low acidity. Grilled lemon, japanese pears and neutral white melon. The wine needs a bit more acidity to really hit it off.

Drinking very well, good acIdity with a touch of butteryness too follow. Some nice biscuity and savoury flavours and a hint if minerality. Not bad at all for village level Chablis and has improved since the previous bottle.

California can't make Chardonnay like this Chablis. It is interesting because the vines have some age on them (label does not say how old, but thusly "les venerables") and grown in chalky-like soil, so in addition to the fruit you have a touch of minerality. Reminds me of French Chablis I was first introduced to in the early 1980's with that flint and not overly-oaked. The fruit tastes like green apple, but not quite that sour, acidic, austere...but hardly sweet. Everything seemed to be super-balanced and integrated and we surely enjoyed this and are glad we have another bottle, although at 2015-DRINK NOW.

First off this came in a stupidly heavy bottle. The wine was pleasant but not what I expect from Chablis. It was a ripe rich Chardonnay, I missed the austere flintiness that is more typical.

Quite an unusual chablis from chablisienne for me...
Overall no single fruit discernible neither through bouquet or taste but in general a very pleasant chablis. Since this one is already on the cheaper side the fullness and mouthfeel is very good. Medium to full flavour and nicely integrated.
My only complaint would be that the aftertaste is slightly alcoholic but overall a much better buy than la sereinen for a similar price point.

Nose: Lemon pie and non-buttered popcorn, pears (thinking they're crispy for some reason). Nose is the strong side of this wine. Taste: Lemon-water and the inner part of cucumber. Hollow. Lacks a bit of structure (surprisingly low acidity) and length. No wow-factor whatsoever. Does not seem to be built for aging.

Pale golden yellow with silver highlights. Very pure and fresh nose with lots of chalk / oyster shell, yellow plum and crisp apple. Medium bodied and very crisp and clean in the mouth. Flavours are stony yellow fruits - unripe yellow pear, white currant, yellow plum. Lots of phenolic extract at the end adds a pleasant astringency. Finishes cool and fresh with a feathery lightness that tails off into a lingering acidic tanginess that is mouth watering. Refreshing and bright.

Chablis Sunday: Visit to La Chablisienne, Chablis; 1/10/2019-1/11/2019: Not the Vieilles Vignes version. A villages level Chablis, the name refers to a plot of at least 35 year old vines. More Chablis typicity on bouquet. Lemon, minerals, seashell and pear perfumes. Richer and fuller on palate than anticipated from the nose. Lacking in chalky minerality and some acid cut. A decent, ripe and full Chardonnay. I’d drink in the next 3-5 years. Euros 15.

Trip to Chablis; 4/26/2018-4/28/2018: Short note. Fresh and bloomy, eucalyptus, on the palate nice bitterness, intense and round, medium to long finish, has the character of a premier cru but the price of a basic Chablis. 88-90.

Dry. Medium- body. Medium acidity. Okay balance. Okay structure. Low complexity.
Medium finish with lemon and crushed grape seeds.

Pleasant but boring, lacking the flinty minerality I would expect from Chablis... Will revisit tomorrow
