When opened the palate had a razors edge of acidity. Very sour and nothing Bordeaux about it. Nose had notes of truffle, sharp ripe dark fruit and wet earth. After a few hours the fruit gains the definition of plum.
Palate leads with Loganberry, cocoa, and tobacco leading into leather tannins and notes of Iron, savory herds and blackberry. The acidity broadens on a finish that features notes of blueberry and truffle. It is more of an Italian wine like a Chianti than a Bordeaux. (I'd have rated it an 84 initially and that was a nod to "as a Chianti".
After several hours the wine opens a palate of plum and tobacco up front with a line of iron and wet stone. Much better.

2017 UGC Des Bordeaux, San Francisco, no Cabernet Sauvignon-lost all to weather, 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, nose of dark fruit, and ash, medium body, lovely, brooding, needs time and maybe a prayer

Union des Grand Cru de Bordeaux: Seattle: Rough nose that was a little hot. However, this was full of rich dark fruit and licorice, with bold, but somehow at the same time, subtle, tannins. Long long finish that was remarkably enjoyable. With more time to integrate, this will be wonderful. 89-92.

Flowers, cherries, licorice, incense and soft, silky textures define the wine. On the palate, the wine is medium bodied, silky, charming and ending with fresh dark cherry and licorice in the finish. Made from blending 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. The harvest took place September 15-September 29. The wine reached 13% alcohol. Due to the frost, 70% of the harvest was lost.

Amsterdam UGCB Tasting and Winemakers' Dinner (Beurs van Berlage / Eden Hotel): Trade tasting, brief note. A bit stalky, the fruit feels a bit underripe, cranberries, red currants, lacks power and persistence.

Redcurrant, red cherry, intense pencil nose. Oak obscures the otherwise fresh and pencilly palate, but still in the 90 +/- range.

Bordeaux 2017 En Primeur - In Bottle Tasting (Montreal): Soft black fruit is integrating nicely with with savoury herbs, spices, a little earth, medium tannins and a smooth finish.
