Hugely concentrated nose of dark fruit, blackberry jam and flowers. The palate is thick and full bodied with notes of sweet red and black fruit, spices, minerals and flowers. Layers of flavour and concentration. Fantastic but will of course improve.

From memory of two weeks ago. Loved the 17 JB so assumed Bone Rock JB would be even better. Unfortunately only had time for a flash decant which ruined things. Hot, disjoined, and no where ready to drink. Tough to score at this point. Hold.

Sad to see this go. Drank on a night when many other things were imbibed. We paired it with grilled ribeyes. Big without being big. Elegant without notice. Eclipsed everything else.

This is the first Bone Rock I’ve had (or ever even seen, for that matter). It’s delicious and I agree with the sentiments of the arrival letter that Saxum’s 2017s are approachable. Based upon a taste the second day, this wine will age well but it doesn’t necessarily need to be held.
This wine paired exceptionally with pot stickers! This wine paired exceptionally with pot stickers! I don’t frequently comment about food pairings; if you have one of these and a favorite Chinese restaurant, introduce them to one another.
I’m thankful to have cleared to become a Saxum customer; I haven’t been disappointed by any of their wines and the QPR performs along with another current favorite, Andremily.

Decanted 1 hour. Beautifully aromatic Grenache-forward blend. It’s very tight now and needs years to develop but it has all the makings of a stunning, elegant Rhône blend. I’m drinking this in quarantine and not at all concerned that I opened it too early. It’s delicious now but far from its eventual potential.

Four hour decant. Big, dark and concentrated. Black and blue fruits, spices. Great balance and firm grip. Long finish. Delicious.

Rich bold fruit flavors! Smooth and well-balanced. I can see why Justin Smith thought that this might have been his best Bone Rock ever!

Just beautiful Syrah . Big. Thick. Great acidity. Supreme balance already. And a peek of red sweetness although I doubt there is any residual sugar.

Very accessible at an early age. Was nice upon opening and evolved nicely with time.

Really good. Super smooth and rich without being heavy or overdone. Smoked meat, pepper and black fruits and fresh acidity.

Barrel sample @ Saxum, walking around, not able to do formal notes. Bigger and richer, blackberries, lots of Syrah flavors.
