Really interesting nose - sea shell, toasted almonds, iodine, yellow fruits - but on its way out. Something seems slightly hollow mid-palate, and the acidity insufficient to carry it the full distance. Very much a worthwhile curiosity however.

Nose of bright lemon acid , ocean minerals of salt and piercing integration of tropical citrus. Palate is same as nose that is refreshing with halibut poached dish with Mediterranean olives, zucchini , and herbs.

Yellowy green in colour. Lime seaweed lemon and stone fruits on the nose and after time hints of butterscotch. Some weight and viscosity on the palate but not OTT and seems quite open and expressive with a core of savoury white fruits with lively acids and salinity. Very interesting, quite complex and serious. BTG from Zalto Universal.

This is not a "great" wine. At $7/bottle on "closeout", it is an amazing QPR. Nose waxy, slightly aromatic and floral, pear. Palate similarly waxy and orchard fruit - pear and apple and a bit of white peach. Finish not all that long, some mineral, a bit of acid (if not enough for me). Great for the table on a weeknight. This has enough complexity and seriousness to be interesting, but it's not got the complexity ro depth of "greatness".

I paid double the price so factor that into the review.
Appearance - clear, medium, hay.
Nose - youthful, medium plus intensity , clean, toasty notes, popcorn, kernel notes, buttery, maybe a browned cooked apple you can pull out. Toasted pecans.
Palate - acidity pops, sour apple, cinnamon, pepper, young and fresh, feels alive in mouth, medium body, balanced, medium alcohol, finish is medium plus, alcohol integrated. Dry.
Wine is less about the fruit and more about the oak but in a fresh way. Doesn’t taste old but has the structure to pair with some heft. Not a light fruity wine for summer. Nice match for cheeses, meats, olive oil and spice. A tapas wine.
Nice wine for money but I paid $25 during the Covid. I’m not running it to get more but it’s nice.

Apple, melon and pear notes - all with a spice kick. Lean and fresh with a nice finish. Yes, I had this in winter, but this belongs with some light, fresh summer fare.

Innocuous palate and slightly minerally nose with hints of white peach and honey. Ok. But not more than that. Much more interesting wines for the price. Too bad because I love cvne wines.

Very light nose of white peach, white flowers, citrus, and wet stone. A bit more weight on the finish - minerality and wet stone. A neutral wine that is unlikely to offend anyone. I wish it were more acidic. Could pair well with milder-flavoured sushi or pan seared chicken.

Great old world style white. Dry and mineraly with mild pleasant white fruit. We tasted this over 3 days. Was definitely better 1st day. Was still OK 2nd day. There was only 1 serving left for day 3, and it was left overnight, in the tasting glass, in the fridge, covered with cellophane. Weirdest thing, on day three, there was no fruit left, but what was left was "woody" / oakey. Reminded us of a whiskey. The vintner notes talk about fermenting steel. But there definitely appeared this woody, whisky flavor and aroma. Upon reading some info on their website, there is a "classico" or old style white they used to produce that they added sherry to. I wonder if they are adding a bit of sherry to this wine.

Very old school. Very light / mild nose and palate, but if you pay attention, there's wonderful limestone, wet stone, white peach and pear. Makes me think of a warm spring day near the ocean with a gentle breeze.

100% Viura, vinified in stainless steel. Tasted blind in VV.
Pale grassy-green color. Quite reticent and nondescript nose with vague notes of fresh apples. Nothing more, really. The wine is ripe, mild and quite linear on the palate with a medium-plus body and somewhat restrained flavors of sweet golden apples. That's it. Medium-plus acidity. Medium-long aftertaste with flavors of ripe apples in the finish.
A ripe and very one-dimensional white wine. Comes across as youthful and quite refreshing, but also really linear and utterly boring. There's just vague appley flavors, nothing more. You are bored by the second sip. Waste of money at 13,98€.

Nose of pear and apples.
On the palate, pear, apples, citrus, honey, saltwater and just a tiny tang of oxidation. Finish is extremely crisp and mineral.
Improved significantly after 1 week (!).
Great paired with chicken fricassee and spanakopita.

Wine Tasting Group - Rioja - Oct 26, 2019 (Sketches of Spain, Bishop Arts, Oak Cliff, Dallas): 100% Viura. Some reductive aromas with ripe apples and hints of tropical fruits. Apples, herbs, and a hint of bitter pith on the palate with a creamy mouthfeel. Aged in sherry casks according to Javier's father. Always a reliable wine with nice QPR.
