Opened this bottle on Christmas. It was well-balanced with a medium finish. We tasted tart berry flavors on the first try. As the wine opened up we tasted more floral and vanilla flavors. Great bottle! Definitely ready to drink and enjoy!

Decanted for significant sediment. Plummy mauve color all the way to the just transparent rim. Soaring nose of spicebox, tobacco and plums, with a touch of prune. (nose is 94 points) Flavors are one dimensional but dense, touch of prune with some brightness added by black fruits, big and dense, finishes with high toned berry that lasts 10-15 seconds and then is gone. A big success for the vintage. What other grapes are in here? Drink now or short term, no tannins left.

Not too much exciting here. Went well with my chops but lacked complexity. Sediment experienced in the bottle, more so than I would have thought from a 2003. This bottle could benefit from a few more years of aging.

Tasted at Castello di Amorosa in Calistoga. Tasted with other reds and by far this one stood out above the rest which included their Super Tuscan and their Sangioviese. Had a nice smooth feel, should age pretty well.

Smooth, bright notes, minerals but not Tanic. Kind of a jammy berry fruit
