Subtle nose - floral and peaches? Honeyed Apple with a striking lemon and lime acidity. Real sweetness but so balanced by the acidity. Showing a lovely complexity and different layers of notes and flavours Inc some tertiary gun flint. Still young!
Very good but not as sensational compared to the first time I had this.

Excellent showing here. Beautiful nose of minerals, mint, lemon. The wine stayed light and elegant, my kind of semi-sweet wine that can accompany an apero or a dessert without feeling heavy. Doennhoff delivers, what’s new.

Pale yellow. Nose clearly a Riesling fruity, passion fruit, hint of honey and hint of petrol. On palate wonderfully balanced. Lemon and lime acidity balanced against honeyed tropical fruit inc peach, mango, pineapple etc. Subtle but present Riesling minerality. Great tang to it.
Real purity and with such good balance including throughout the lengthy finish. Feels very harmonious and tremendous quality.
Still young and will mature for many years but drinking well right now too. Less "slap in the face" concentration compared to the 2009 Eiswein from the same vineyard but has the same real purity.
Probably 95% of the concentration and wonder of that Eiswein - considering this is one tenth of the price, this represents astonishing value.

Beautiful yellow gold color. Nicely balanced. Lemon lime on the palate with just the right amount of sweetness and minerality. Bracing shot of acidity on the finish. My remaining bottles won’t make it to 2044. Bravo!!!

Just a tad shy on first pour then it explodes. So much intense candied lime. It is flecked with mineral and has great intensity to the mid-palate. It is deep and sweet but by no means heavy, gliding across the palate and finishing with a huge, fresh squeeze of citrus.

This auslese above all gives an impression of absolute purity. Upon opening the nose gives of green apples and crisp pears, supported by some light floral notes (all in the green/white area). The nose is very pure, but somewhat light currently.
On the palate, you sense much more tension and concentration, with a very nice acid line that keeps the sweetness in check and a nice long aftertaste in the yellow/white/green spectrum. TIghtly coiled, but with plenty of potential.
I'm hesitant to award a score, as this is clearly much too young and currently more about potential than pleasure. The palate is very concentrated and balanced, but the nose is not that interesting currently. Anywhere from 93-96 at peak seems likely.

[17 18] Tasted next to Hermannshöhle Auslese Goldkapsel and after Brücke Spätlese. On the nose concentrated and rich - floral notes, yellow stone fruit, some tropical fruit, hints of honey. On the palate very elegant and fine - it doesn't taste (much) sweeter than the Spätlese, the acidity is perfectly integrated and keeps the fruit in check. Almost weightless, very vibrant, very lifted, brimming with energy. Slightly spicy. Impressive intensity and persistence to the finish. Wow. 96-97+
