Lite utvikling. Intens og primær nese med blåbær, blomster, moreller anis, tobakk. Mye likt i munn, litt pepper og krydder i tillegg. Lang strukturert, konsentrert og fantastisk balanse. Lite utvikling. Godt, men blir bedre. 93-94

We picked up this bottle during a tour of CVNE in Haro without tasting it, mainly because I'd never seen a Graciano bottled by itself. Used mainly as a blending grape, this type of bottling is rare to see, so I had to have it.
Opened for one hour.
Dark, almost black in the glass. The nose has a touch of smoke and black fruit. The tannins are there with bright acidity (making it interesting to see where this grape fits in with Tempranillo to build the typical wine from Rioja) but not any of the typical cherry I expected.
Some oak, but not overpowering. More vanilla than mocha on the palate and that's probably from the introduction of French oak as compared to American oak.
Certainly a food wine due to the acidity and perfectly matched with the gelatinous feel Ox Tail Stew. If I could find it locally, I'd buy it all.

#67FromHome This is not for me. You can tell it's masculine and burly, very muscular but to me it comes across as unbalanced with inky cassis first impression that is pleasant followed by a hit of tartness. Tannins were long on the finish. According to Jorge this is the future for global warming so I need to try a mature bottle soon.

Graciano 2015 Lukket nese med lakris, plommer, kaffe. Floral munn, skikkelig forførende. Øker på utover. Mange lag, skikkelig lengde og utrolig frisk! Herlig vin. Henger så utrolig godt sammen. Flott eikebruk. 95-96

A Couple of Days in Rioja; 11/12/2018-11/13/2018 (Haro and Logroño, Spain): Deep ruby. Blackberry jam. Much denser than the Garnacha with much blacker fruit, anise, chocolatey richness, bouncy acidity, and searing tannins. As opposed to its "come hither" Garnacha stalemate, this is nowhere near ready. I don't think I've ever had a pure Graciano, and while pretty interesting, I can see the wisdom of using it as part of a blend.

Winewankers BYO - Blind; 10/13/2018-10/14/2018 (Caranord Bodø): Blue red almost completely black. The nose has dark berries and some leather. Hints of iron and metal. The palate is pompous and round and almost feels sweet. Very long, with cherries towards the end. Must be allowed to lie. For a long time.

My first pure graciano. Astonishing nose, as different from anything I know as it is attractive. Burly and mouthfilling. Everywhere we went in Haro people were talking about this wine.
