MUCH better than my last bottle, which tasted tropical like a muscat, very insipid...a crappy wine from the Macon? This bottle is back to Chablis! GC weight...showing the ripeness of vintage, yet not as tropical...more citrus and crisp apples...killer dry extract coming through...crushed limestone, sea air, chive...waxy banana skin with a little spearmint...Mmmmm Raveneau?! Has a nice creamy sheen to it...nothing powerful or protruding...very subtle and calm...almost something you'd find in a finely aged Chablis? Drink these while letting your 14's age...my faith just might have been restored with the Caves Dup!

Drinking the 2016 of this...VERY tropical, almost like a Muscat, or a something from the Macon...would never guess Chablis blind, let alone LES CLOS? Not even close to that 2014...and with the multiple bad bottles of the 15 MdT i've had...I'm beginning to falter from my love of the Caves Dup?

Quarantine; 3/12/2020-5/29/2020 (Chicago, IL): This seems to have picked up some weight since the last time I had it. There's a good dose of tropical fruit on the nose, with a fair bit of concentration. On the palate, there's good weight and density, but this is lacking the mineral cut that makes Chablis Chablis. I think with time, if all this fat is shed this will end up a pretty solid white Burgundy. This is another example of why I don't find 2016 white Burgundy convincing. I much prefer 2015, not to mention 2014 or 2017.

Duplessis at Table, Donkey and Stick (Chicago, IL): The tropicality of the 2016 vintage shows here, but it's well counterweighted by the overall mineral structure. The palate shows some tropical fruit as well, but this doesn't come off as a particularly fat wine. Especially in comparison with the other wines in the lineup tonight, this definitely showed some serious grand cru density.

after multiple recent notes of premox, I decided to pop a bottle. Badly premoxed as well. Yikes!
