Thursday evening, in Singapore 🇸🇬 again, and pairing it with a sea bass. Medium golden Color. Roasted pineapple, cream, white pepper, wet stones, ginger bread, light touch of green capsicum. Med acidity, Med body, Med alcohol, Med flavor intensity, Med+ finish. Nice acidity, quite buttery mouth, vegetable notes, salinity, citrus, pineapple, a decent finish. Like it !

I don't like this style of wine - austere and very dry - just lacks charm and pleasure. My score reflects the fact that I can understand that it is very well made wine, with a depth of flavour that justifies a score above 90. My personal score would be more like 89. An enticingly rich nose of butterscotch and ripe peach is reflected on the palate - but suppressed by the austere overly dry style. The high acidity does nothing to provide pleasure, though will undoubtedly mean the wine will endure for a long time. The finish is persistent and there is complexity. Drink now and over the next 10 years.
A lot more restraint and soft and full of elegance and charm vs what we though this would be. Especially following the 2015 Ridge Estate Chardonnay ( Papies 90) this shown bright. This is not the usual new world Chardonnay and should thus not be treated as such, solid 92

Atkin Chardonnay Comparative tasting (Lismore): (Tasted Blind): Adrianna vineyard planted in 1996. Chalk soil, Gualtallary. Opens with intense aniseed notes, more of a blend than pure Chardonnay, starts to give a salty sea breeze (almost flor good , almost aldehyde bad) and mineral element, jasmine (?) with some white apple. The palate delivers a vibrant crispy mineral acidity but there is an odd minty note to add to the aniseed. Quite a weighty wine I found it quite odd - not sure if the bottle was compromised?

The 'White Stones' Chardonnay comes from a select 27 rows within Block 1 of the Adrianna Vineyard at 4,575 feet elevation and gets its name refers to the gravelly soils beneath the vines, which is covered with oval, white stones. The wine itself is absolutely gorgeous, as it begins with beautiful aromatics of orchard fruits and subtle tropical notes along with some vanilla blossoms and wonderful stony minerality. On the palate this displays lovely vibrancy and is extremely well balanced and focused, with a mineral laced core that continues through the finish. This is a stunning bottle of chardonnay that is already drink beautifully, but also has the potential to age.

Lemon butterscotch, white flowers, wet white stones (or is that cognitive bias?). Soft and plush with a solid foundation.

Very good indeed. Fruit and herb scents in balance. Very respectable concentration. Ramonet mint too
