A little vegetal and closed upon opening but after three hours it shows very well. Deep aromas of dark berries and wood/smoke, some spices. Intense palate of red berries, feels very fresh with its lively acidity. Length is decent, not extraordinary. Very agreeable structure to this and a superb food wine! So in conclusion, some maturation is evident but still plenty of fruit, exactly how I want my pinot to be.

Enjoyed at Sage Jadot Barrel tasting event. Young, but still delicious at this stage of its evolution. It could lock down again, but for this moment it is very nice.

Jadot Gevrey-Chambertin Clos Saint-Jacques 2017. Selvfølgelig på den unge siden, men likevel en lekker sak å begi seg inn på nå. Dyp frukt med pen parfyme og sexy spice i bakgrunnen. Strålende dybde i anslaget. Mørk kraftig frukt som lett spiser 10 år til på langs. Høy konsentrasjon med en fin friskhet. Koser meg stort med denne, men ingen tvil om at det er mer å hente. Lang kraftfull finish med markante tanniner. 93p for nå.

Maybe a touch of wood spice on first pour, but after 15 minutes in the glass it exploded. Perfectly ripe red and dark fruits, with some black earth. It has a gentle underlying meatiness too. It is silky against the gums, with sinewy muscle driving home the long and expansive finish. It is beautifully proportioned and balanced and drinking well as a youngster.

The notes and the reviews are spot on. Very forward and approachable now. Luscious sweet fruit, beautiful bouquet, and amazingly intoxicating for a young wine. This is lovely juice. From 375ml.

La Paulée de New York Grand Tasting (Pier Sixty, Chelsea Piers - New York NY): Walk around tasting. Black and red cherry with good weight and depth. Another 2017 that is nicely approachable and will drink well young, probably best from 2022, but will the structure to also evolve and drink well for several decades going forward.

La Paulée 2020 Grand Tasting of 2017 Burgundy (Pier 60, New York): Light red color. Pretty, piquant cherry leading up to a soil-drenched finish. Elegant and seductive even now. This will not be for long aging, though, and likely will continue to remain open through its youth. Lovely wine.

More masculine, yet very seductive aromas with concentrated red berries, quality wood and spice varieties. Medium + bodied wine with very good fresh mouthfeel. Super juicy red berries, spices and light salts. Light green bitterness along with fresh and nice finish. The tannins are present, but build a solid framework around the fruit. Great wine! 93 points.

Louis Jadot Cellar Visit and Tasting (Day 11, Visit 4) (Beaune): Barrel tasting at Jadot. Blacker, denser, meatier vs Cazetiers just tasted, perhaps not as elegant, certainly not as approachable, but probably longer-term better. Starts out backward, but finishes with lots of finesse. 92-93 point potential.

I have this in 375ml and suspect the case will be gone before secondary evolution occurs. But they are young and tasty.

Younger and showing more primary than bottles 18+ months ago. This is tightening up, and may not stay as approachable as it was earlier. From 375ml.

Excellent silky black cherry, light sous bois, floral nose and palate with nicely acidic and gently tannic structure. Beautiful.

Very pale, brighter; fragrant, lifted (touch of acetone); (more) depth & power, crisp acidity, muscular; spicy finish - has a blunt edge.

Very pretty red cherry fruit and earth. All silk. No fireworks, just pure pinot fruit, soil, spice, and balance.
