A consistently good value wine that's aged in large oak casks for ~ 1 year. Good/Good+ acidity, with avg balance/complexity. A reliable cellar defender for many, no doubt. 13,0% abv. 95% Sangiovese, other. Drink now thru 2025. recommended+
Medium red. Very earthy nose, cherry, thyme, red flowers all bound in a very traditional earthiness. Delicious warm berry, cherry and mushroom flavours and a tasty long dry finish.
I am so happy to see this sort of profile from a 2016. Nothing overdone.

I enjoyed this quite a lot. Medium dark red. Cherry, earth and plum. A very traditional Chianti nose in my opinion. Dry warm cherry and dried mushroom flavours and a nice balanced finish.
Very enjoyable.

Rather deep red for a Chianti. Still muted nose. Exceptionally well made with tart cherry fruit. Some tannins plus high acidity indicate improvement for another 5-10 years in the bottle, depending upon storage conditions. Super value, as I bought it for under $12.

Ripeness and finesse of the Sangiovese grape that creates a fruity, juicy wines with strong cherry notes and high acidity. Fruit aromas on the nose and the palate, black pepper, light chocolate espresso, sweet spice coming though as well as dried prune and fig. It reminds me of been back in the hills of Tuscany at a wine tasting. Tasty I would buy this wine again. 13%

First tried at Il Mullino in SoHo, and a couple of more times since. It’s consistently impressed me. It doesn’t smell like stinky oak barrels, it’s not blended with Merlot or Cabernet. It’s just a beautiful wine that compliments food. If your taste runs toward Cru Beaujolais, young Nebbiolos and those types of lighter fresher tasting less manipulated wines this is great vino.

From 75cl, good natural cork. Unexpectedly ripe-round and friendly, this medium-to full bodied Chianti is forward, with crisp, crunchy, red-cherry-fruit, friendly 13% alc. and an appealing, gentle tannic grip on the surprisingly long finish. Not a keeper, but for P+P in the next 12-18 months you could do a lot worse for 10 EUR retail (REWE, Berlin). 88P

Raspberry candy, red cherry, dried herbs, black tea, leather. Sour red berry upfront, herbal mid, bright acidity. As it opens up it picks up black cherry notes and gets softer.

Lots of oak on this one. A little reminiscent of a Highway 12

Cherry, mineral, amaretto, and earth nose. Juicy and bright palate; dry and fresh with a relaxed 13% alcohol. Medium length.

Dark fruited, some nice oldish wood, good balance. Solid, but not quite interesting enough
