A top notch 2016 Williams Selyem Precious Mountain Vineyard pinot noir. Great flavors of cherry, strawberry, raspberry, and blueberry with subtle spices. All well balanced like a calibrated scale.

Incredibly complex and enticing aroma with notes of blueberry, cherry, earth, and toasted coconut. Tastes like blueberry cheesecake with a burnt orange peel note, then transitions to strawberries and cherries. Earthy, bramble finish that is somewhat bitter — this is where the wine falls short for me.
Expensive.

Okay, so maybe it's not amazing enough to turn me into Gollum, but it's still pretty damn good. Black cherry and tannic enough to age a whole longer. Long finish that shows the fruit and a hint of forest floor. Quite good but the price is hard to justify.

Winemaker Notes: The Precious Mountain Vineyard Pinot Noir is typically one of our most complex wines and the 2016 is no exception! With various degrees of sun exposure on the dry-farmed vines, the result is a multitude of aroma and flavor profiles. Notes of dark cherry, bergamot, flint, and dried herbs combine to offer a rather brooding aromatic profile. In the mouth, the tannins are robust and it is immediately clear that these grapes were grown on the challenging Sonoma Coast mountain tops. Berry flavors and Earl Grey tea complete the palate with flinty, smoky minerals on the finish.

Nice enticing aromatics but falls a bit flat and monotone on the palate.

Pale ruby color with slow legs. Cherry, cedar and cinnamon on the nose. Raspberry, orang peel and cola on the palate. Long silky finish.

Compared this evening with a 2008 Clos de Vougeot. This wine held its own.
