  • Wow. Pale gold color. Nose of hazelnuts and almonds and creme brulee. The wine was a bit thin on the palate, not much glycerine. The finish was spicy and wonderful and went on forever.

  • According to the makers of this wine you are not supposed to decant Tondonia but let it open up in the (Burgundy) glass. I tried that for the first hour but nothing really happened so I decanted it and it improved. This is a very light wine, not a style I like much. It is well made and refined and after 2 hours does have a haunting raspberry aroma that is elusive but impressive, a hint of mocha too but only a hint. Raspberries are there in the flavour too but this not only tastes light (refined) it tastes dilute (watery) and with a bit of volatile acidity shwing on the finish. I wanted to like this more but in the end was rather underwhelmed. Still with enough fruit to last but I doubt it will improve with more keeping.
