Color: golden yellow Nose: floral, daffodils, a little honey, herbal spices Palate: yellow notes, malo, mild oak Mouthfeel: juicy, soft, full with a spicy finish
As someone who’s not a fan of malolactic chards, this is decent. Enough said.

14.4% alcohol; screw top; long legs, pale metallic golden yellow; tasted at approximately 10 degrees C; weak nose with hints of golden delicious apples, citrus, pineapple, and faint whiffs of butterscotch and vanilla; full mouthfeel with a fairly good balance of tannins versus sourness and fruitiness; the long finish has an initial hint of bitterness throwing its presence into the mix, morphing into a generic fragrant fruit towards the end; pair with Thai chicken prepared in an assortment of spices to taste; I'm torn between an 89 and 90 rating, with the intriguing finish deciding the case.

Don Carano died a little over two years ago, but the winery he built with his wife Rhonda lives on. This screwtop Chard at $23 is certainly a bargain: bright lemon curd, minerality, and touches of vanilla and butter on the nose with all that and just slight hints of oak (21% new French) on the palate. This is certainly a New World, even "California" Chardonnay with the oak and malolactic fermentation (85%), but it is far, even very far, from an oak or butter bomb. This is particularly delicious. thedrunkencyclist.com

2019 Hennepin Lake Charity Event (Minneapolis, MN): Typical under $30 Chardonnay from California. Nothing terrible but not that interesting either. Oak, lemon, pear and vanilla. Some spices on the finish.

Ferrari-Carano wine tasting dinner. Really a nice cali chardonnay. Notes of citrus, tropical fruit, white stone fruits and green apple, this fruit forward, balanced wine was easy to drink. With only a little wood showing, and acidity not overpowering the fruit, this showed well tonight and was enjoyed by the table with a mushroom pasta. Nice.

Slightly Harsh initial tone went away upon warming and on the second day. Otherwise light butter tastes nice and provides good mouthfeel.
