Last bottle of three. In perfect drinking window, although give it a little air-won't need decanting. Textbook wonderful Napa Cab. Don't see long-term aging on this. I'd drink this year or early next.

There was bottle variation between my 10/17 note and this note. I think the prior bottle was slightly corrupted. This was everything you want a Napa Cab to be. Dark, brooding, elegant but not timid. 100% varietally correct and there was a touch of menthol or something similar we attribute to perhaps the grapevines being near eucalyptus trees. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being robust and 1 being thin and tasteless, would give this a 7.5-8, so a bit on the robust side, but not overwhelmingly so. Everything seemed well-balanced, surprisingly drinking well (earlier than we are used to), so pop and enjoy! As good as this is, do not see long-term aging...the tannins are already receding.

Fruit forward, drinking nicely, with slight alcohol finish. Still deciding whether time in the bottle will soften the wine. Drink another in a few months
IGNORE THIS AND SEE 11-09-2021 entry. I'm a little hesitant with my numerical rating because the pulled cork showed that wine escaped to nearly the top of the cork, but not all the way. So, maybe a little air got in. Still, very good but not enough depth and character to get to 90 or over. A fruit-forward style of Cab that wass 100% varietally correct and was in exactly the right place for consumption (i.e. ready now). Not sure I see long-term aging with this given lack of serious tannins. We have 2 more bottles, and we'll be consuming those soon, so more to come.

Excellent wine. Lots of texture. Plenty of dark berry and classic Bordeaux wine making happening here. The hint of graphite and earth are a great balancing act for a wine that opens beautifully.

Decant for 1+ hours. It is hitting it's stride with a tinge of alcohol at the edge. Dark crimson in color. Bell pepper, forest floor and a touch of smoke on the nose. Dark plums, dark cherries and blackberries on the palate. Nice finish. Paul Hobbs consults the winery.
