Largest body of any Montepulciano d`Abbruzzo I have ever tasted. Very charming nose of stewed berries mixed with floral tones. Palate is covered entirely with red fruits, cinnamon and green tea. Finish lasts for 30 seconds+. Great effort by Ulisse.

Tasted this at a wine dinner at Tunglok Signatures (Orchard Rendezvous Hotel) with my wine mates. Theme of the evening: A good wine for Christmas and the New Year.
Dark purple in colour, with beautiful hues of dark fruits, prunes and a touch of vanilla. Well integrated and drinking very nicely at the moment. Some complexity and long finish.
Not very familiar with the Montepulciano grape and was surprised that it can be made into a big and serious wine as this. Am very impressed with this wine and my perception of the Italian grape is starting to evolve.

If You never had a great experience with Montepulciano, and the chances are very low to have, this stunner sets You aside. Try it to believe it. Sheer power attacking the palate very intense. Beautiful fruit in a monumental size flushing through the palate. This is what you can calla large bodied wine.

Monster wine. Very intense nose with wood notes and vanilla. Very much fruit on the palate. Huge body. Buttery soft tannins. With a little more complexity, the wine would be rated even higher.

Big and full, where lots of vanilla is combined with jammy plums, smoke, tobacco, and moist leather. Smooth structure and gentle, almost non-existent tannins. Nice balance between sweetness and acidity. Long and chocolaty finish. This is a wine that demands something substantial on the plate.

Received as a gift. This wine is "too much" on all fronts. Too thick and too spicy (with a very heavy impact of oak ageing, a lot of vanilla, incense). I must say it is difficult to pair it with food, given the overwhelming (and not so pleasant, in my view) impact it has.
The wine looks inky colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like toast, oak, vanilla, sandalwood, cinnamon and blackberry. The body is full. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity.

Ruby red with complex notes of dark berries, oak, chocolate, tobacco, and vanilla. Full-bodied and soft with fine tannins. Light acidity and a wonderfully long aftertaste that starts with plum and ends with coffee-toffee. Ten vintages of Amaranta Montepulciano in one bottle.

Party at Wimborne. Drank in Grassl Cru. Appearance deep intensity, inky black colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of vanilla bean, black licorice, tobacco, smoke, oak spice, blackberries, black cherries. Developing. On the palate, almost off-dry, medium acidity, medium+ alcohol (14.5%), soft medium tannins, full body. Pronounced flavour intensity, with flavours of vanilla beans, black licorice, tobacco, smoke, oak spices, sweet tea leaf, blackberries, black cherries, rosewater syrup. Long finish. Good quality I suppose. Tons of ambition, and oak. There is complexity. But wayy too much sweetness of the wine to be taken seriously by connoisseurs. A multi-vintage blend. Don't wanna be biased, but in honesty my eyeballs rolled.

Nose, flavour, residual sugar... Too much of everything for me. If you like Primitivo, this might be one for you nevertheless.

Still believe this is the best Montepulciano I ever drank. Monumental and silky.
