Medium opacity with good purple color and very fine-stranded legs. The nose is dark. Blackberry, hoisin, raisins and cinnamon. On the palate it’s slightly lighter- sweet black cherries, violets and creosote. Very lithe tannins sneak up on me and the mid palate becomes a mouth puckering event that allows waves of black cherry to mingle with rooibos tea and tar. The tannic grip is further highlighted on the finish. Evergreen, black tea and blackberries surrounded by that astringency take me to a medium length ending that has my mouth watering. Delicious, youthful and cellarworthy. This wine is versatile in its power and flavor profile. Really yummy and worthy of 92 points from me. One pro went as high as 94! Great stuff for $11, a steal really. Drink till 2026. 5 stars for sure for this 85% Grenache/15% Syrah blend.

Medium ruby hue with medium saturation. Aromas of cherry, chocolate, dried herbs, forest floor, pepper, plum, raspberry, vanilla. Medium body, medium tannins, and medium-plus acidity. Palate with brambly red fruit. An incredible bouquet with a soft texture and an easy finish. It needs some time to open up but well worth it. Bonus points for value. "Spanish Rhône" blend of Grenache (85%) and Syrah (15%).

Pretty typical ripe GSM with blackberry-raspberry syrup, grape cough syrup. With an hour of air it’s a little less syrupy with nicer tannin texture and some licorice. M acid, M- tannin, M+ alcohol, M+ to fill body. Simple, ripe, not a terroir wine, but not excessive and for ~$15 a pretty good value for this type of wine. 5.7/10

Dark red, nose of red berries, the acidity is over powering the fruit. Dry on the palate. Medium and tart finish. Much better the second day. Acidity has mellowed a bit leaving more room for the taste of red berries. Better balance now and even a bit spicy. The finish is medium but the burning sensation of the high alcohol content lasts even longer. Increasing my rating from 88 to 89

A nose of dark fruits and spices, purple in color. A medium to full bodied red, with black cherry, plum, herbs, dust and spice on finish. A very good value. www.winelx.com

Deep, beautiful ruby-garnet color. Intense, piercing raspberry, red cherry, and cranberry on the nose. Very different from the last time I had this wine - herbal, medicinal notes with strong black tea tannins and concentrated red fruit notes. It appears to have shut down since the last time I had it.

Very pretty dark ruby color. Hi-toned raspberries and Indian spices on the nose. Very smooth and silky texture. Gripping black raspberries, nice umami, really delicious.

Drinks like a Cote du Rhone, perhaps not so refined or interesting as a CdRV, but QPR is great. No barrel character (aged in concrete?) but a lot of fruit. Should keep a few years.

Nearly identical to the 2015 version of this wine. A pleasant, well-drinkable Montsant wine, a Garnatxa-Syrah-Merlot blend that was aged for nine months in a combination of French and American 225 liters barriques (new to five years old). Decanted: one hour in advance. Ruby-red in color with a violet rim and a seductive nose offering scents of blueberry fruit, kirsch liqueur, dried herbs and some earthy tones. The medium to full-bodied palate shows an elegant wine characterized by lush plum and cherry fruit, a supple-velvety texture and nicely balanced tannins. Harmonious finish with some balsamic nuances. Drinking window: now–2022.

Solid, rustic, ok, just not very interesting. Fruit may be a little faded.

Third bottle, Nice dark ruby red, fruity aroma, balance, very light tannins, good wine to sip on its own, short finish.

Surprisingly tasty given the price point. Excellent with sauteed pork in a creamy mushroom sauce. Nice weeknight, everyday red.

Darker fruit, hint of stone and herbs. Lighter palate. Surprised by the alcohol content as it doesn't feel at all hot.

solid mixed darker fruit; a bit ponderous on day one, lighter on day two, albeit with a thinner mid palate. Worked well with steak burritos.
