Tasted against the producers Lirac and Visan, same vintage (2017). The Cairanne was the winner with deeper notes of garrique and juniper. This one has a higher percentage of Shiraz than the other two wines - maybe it's the Shiraz shining through. Will develop further for another 5 years.

Made from 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah. Typical Cote du Rhone except the missing oak barrel notes as this wine was matured in concrete tanks only. On the palate dark berries, soft tannins, herbs and spices, as well as some stone. Medium to long finish.
Probably not made for long storage and I doubt that it will further improve.
Rated 93p by Parker: "Mocha, black cherries and dried spices abound on the nose of the 2017 Cairanne, a super effort that aged only in concrete tanks. Full-bodied and creamy-textured, it's lush and layered, with attractive dustings of cocoa and cinnamon on the long, silky finish."
