Needed decanting for sediment. Jammy, slightly metalic nose with a hint of acetate of a warm year. Sweet on the front of the palate with black cherry and plum - with a savoury dusty finish. Acidity was subtle and kept this nicely centred. This is a civilised and rather austere wine that has plenty of time left. Poor QPR, but this kind of wine is as rare as hens teeth in Germany.

Deep ruby with some browning at the meniscus, round and balanced in bouquet and flavor, expressing the SLH terroir, mixed red fruits on the palate, with cinnamon and clove and vanilla, lively acid, medium finish. Charming but perhaps a bit past her prime.

Popped and poured, enjoyed over 2 hours. Opened to remind my palate of what pinot tastes like after the awful taste of the Paul Hobbs pinots. Earthy, funky, rich, tart, cranberry, pomegranate. Very full flavored pinot, but true to the varietal, not showing any cola, cherry or sweetness. Nice wine.

Very well made wine with firm structure and lots of fruit. Still a little heat on the finish that I think will mellow with time. Big dark, red fruit smacks you in the face. Best to try again in a couple of year. Maybe some of the fat on this wine will start to smooth out.

Popped and poured, let first glass sit for 30 minutes, bottle open on wine counter. Bright, deep ruby color, almost garnet. Cherry, evergreen forest, herbal nose. Ripe tart cherries, dusty, spicy on the palate. Rich mouthfeel, belies the elegance of the color and nose. In a very nice place. Paired beautifully with a roasted Flannery Lamb Saddle, saffron rice and broccoli sauteed in olive oil, garlic & chicken stock.

Nice bottle of wine. Full bodied for a pinot noir. A hint of sweetness but still some leather and peppery aspects. Well balanced and smooth. Ready to drink now but plenty of life yet. Like this a lot.

this is most interesting. I opened this after finishing a Sea Smoke Southing and found very little difference. Very good wine. Big for a pinot as was the Sea Smoke, dark and brooding, and great with a boiled chicken. Pepper on the nose. the finish perhaps a little short, but, all in all, a very good drink.
