Bought at Chateau d’Issan, its a second wine of Chateau d’Issan, made from a blend of 52% CS, 48% Merlot, aged in oak, 35% new. Deep ruby colour. Intense, fairly dense and concentrated aroma of cassis, vanilla, violets, cherries, earth, tobacco, rustic meaty touch. Medium+ body, silky texture, elegant structure, feels fresh, but approachable with earthy blackcurrants, leather and smoky hints, medium+ acidity and fine medium+ tannins.

This is a great bottle that I opened too early Dark red/purple in colour Big notes of cigar, black tea, some berries and some funk This is a tannic wine with med + acidity great for lamb sirloin Back end there is some stone/graphite. I have two more bottles to see what happens as they age

Drinking very well! Polished and straightforward. Black tea, purple flowers and blue fruits on the nose and the palate is medium bodied with flavors of crisp blackberries and currants, more black tea and a pleasing fresh soil earthiness. Maybe some fresh tobacco - both bouquet and palate. Nice balance. Drink now.

By the glass. Another more Paulliac style wine than typical Margaux. Lots of ripe spicy fruit on the nose. Similar echoes on the palate where it shows abundant fruit balanced by a vibrant acidity. Abundant and tasty. It’s worth considering what it is.
Por copas. Otro vino más del estilo Paulliac que del típico Margaux. Mucha fruta madura especiada en nariz. Parecidos ecos al paladar donde muestra abundante fruta equilibrada por una vibrante acidez. Abundante y sabroso. Merece la pena considerando lo que es.

Briefly, very solid Margaux - plenty of fruit but not a fruit bomb. nicely balanced with acidity and smooth tannins. Drinks well with just a few minutes air. Decent value (by the standards of Bordeaux) at the ~US$32 that I paid.

I had this wine maybe a year ago, but wanted to put it on record.
This was really a very nice wine. Lateley i have had several 2:nd wines from Bordeaux, Clinet, Montrose, Cos Estournel and Comtesse de Lalande, and they are really good. Better than their 1:st wines were when I started drinking wine some 10 years ago. A really good thing is that all of the wines, with the exception of Pagodes de Cos, drank well straight out of the bottle.

Deep ruby color. Intense nose, full of black currant, blackberries, bell pepper and black pepper. High in tannins, medium+ acidity, medium length, full body. Alcohol is off balance, but still, very fresh and juicy mouthfeel. Can wait but it's nice to drink now.

Classics aromatic nose of ripe tomatoes and black berries, savoury herbs, tobacco and star anise. Rich and deep palate. Hints of fresh sage, sweet fruits and earthy herbs. Full-bodied. Open and lively structure, leading to a clean and lingering finish.

Nice ruby color, verging on dark. Medium-body, maybe this is why I didn't find it to my liking so much. Day 2 did not change much and if anything, starting losing any fruit fast such that it was more alcohol.
In general, just an average bordeaux for me.

Flowers and spice are perfectly packaged with ripe, red pit fruits and tobacco. Medium-bodied, soft and supple with sweet cherries on the mid-palate and finish. Give this a year or two to soften, developing additional nuances making it perfect for near term drinking while waiting for the Grand Vin to develop.

Heavy tannins - maybe I opened too early or didn’t decant?
Overall disappointing- forest floor, ripe blackberries, Cassius, tobacco. Solid table wine.

Very nice wine, bought a bit for the cellar, this one won't take too much aging. Will look at a bottle next winter.

Leve nails it in his review. Still young, but still approachable. Glad this is drinking well, I went a bit overboard with 24 bottles!
